Would any of you do this if your dealer asked you to??

So while I continue to live vicariously through videos and pictures of the new F56 online while awaiting my delivery....

I came across this video of a customer who had just bought their new Mini and appears that they were "convinced" to do this. They certainly do not appear to be comfortable and probably just eager to get in their new car and drive. Would anyone here do something like this for their dealer? I don't think I would personally.

(Note, My apologies if the person in this video is on the forum here at NAM, I do not intend to offend you)

I suppose it's no different than the dealer asking you to fill out a survey about your recent purchase. However, this video version is a little too personal for my taste.

I don't know, Mini is far more likely to get me to fill in the survey they will send me via email...

Its amazing to me how some of the dealers are obviously "really" into making videos to put on you tube whereas most others are not. I wonder if it actually generates a lot of business for them.

They wouldn't post what I would have to say.

I agree. I will usually be more honest in writing than when sat in front of a dealers camera for what seems to be an advertising gimmick.

Indeed, I also get the impression that the person recording this is the MA (Nathan) who helped this gentleman. Kind of double handed to ask him on video how he liked his salesperson....

Now that's strange!! ha ha I hope he got $500 for dealer add-ons for doing this.. Also wait until he sees the pressure they put on you about the survey.. they need all 10s or they fail!! But honestly im still sitting on my survey and still haven't decided if I will fill it out or not.. Specially when they are so blunt about needing all 10s! lol

after threatening to go to another dealer if they didnt' drop the dealer addons, he told me about the imortance of the survey.....like Hammerhands, they might not like all of my comments.....

definetly an awkward situation...and if they are giving you a monetary incentive on your mini ifyou do the video...isn't that a bribe?!

I would expect to be compensated, it's advertising, before even thinking about it. Maybe even a contract requiring a followup every year, to ensure they deliver. Also, I get to ask them questions in the followups. Then if they were desperate enough to agree, I would still need to think about it and check with my lawyer.

I would expect compensation as well, when I bought my mini the dealer asked me if I would take a photo for their Facebook page and some other crap to make them look good. I said no thanks. Hopefully these people got something out of it.

Reminds me of a hostage video...saying how much you love your captives as a condition for release.

This is from the same dealership. Like the comment said, I like how at 2:00 she mentions that the dynamic damper control is a radio / infotainment option :D

No, she doesnt. "...additionally, some options we've added are [HUD], [3 different Center Stacks], and Dynamic Damper Conrol."

The TV show 60 Minutes has sometimes interviewed crooks and instead of saying "no comment" or shutting up, the thrill of being on TV was so strong that they were very willing to do the interviews.

She definitely did not say that Dynamic Damper Control was a radio option.

no she didn't but listen back to 0:56 does she say that "there are 2 additional air brakes" ? I know she is talking about airbags but I swear she says air brakes. I think having just spoken about the brake system its an honest mistake but still kinda funny.

My response to a dealer would be how much? We were in a group picture that was used in an insurance commerical for one cycle in a regional tv market in the early nineties. $1500 each.

Here is another one that I find a bit silly. I am also thinking the "customer" in this video is either an employee in plain clothes or at least a friend to MA in the video.
