F56 Reliability Thread
Never too soon for one of these!
Post any exceptions, or NOT, of your F56! I'd like to get some good data going on at least the first year (2014 MYs) to keep track of things to be looked at. First year models can always be hit or miss. May be good for future reference, looking at changes MINI makes from the factory etc.
Please post problems, or even no problems here, @ x,yz miles.

Copying from original thread, as requested:
Heads-Up Display Rattle
My first rattle/vibration is coming from the heads-up display plastic surround between 4k and 5k rpm. It also can be heard when driving on harsh roads. Can this be fixed under warranty?
If so, I will take care of the warranty repair in a few weeks after I return from a long road trip.

Brings back bad memories. When my '09 Tacoma 4x4 Double cab with all the TRD goodies on it was like 2 weeks old, this stupid deer put it's head down and ran right into the side of the truck doing 65MPH! $5K worth of damage. Then after taking out both passenger side doors and the bed box the SOB got up and ran back in the woods. I mean not even a nice bowl of Venison Chili out of the deal.

I can't believe this is going to be my first post in this forum (hopefully the last in this particular thread).
I've been patiently waiting for my F56 S and was supposed to pick it up today as the trucking company finally got it here last night. Already knew about the oil filter gasket problem from the factory that was fixed at the distribution center. However my MA texted me that during PDI the guys found a small leak from one of the tire valve stems. They are getting one overnighted but I won't have time to pick it up until Friday. I suspect this happened during transportation but figured I'd post it to see if anyone else develops a similar problem.
Can't. Wait. For. Friday.

Issue with comfort access system
My first issue with my new MCS is a minor one, but still upsetting. I have the comfort access system, so I'm not sure if this applies to all new MINIs.
On the driver's side exterior door handle there is a small guard that covers a manual key slot (in case your key fob stops working). The piece can be taken off completely to allow access to the key slot. Unfortunately, it doesn't stay in place very well and, of course, mine came off. I left work one morning and when I got home it was gone; so, it had to have fallen off on the drive home.
I called my dealer and he is looking into getting a replacement. It is a minor thing, but it is so annoying to have such a tiny piece missing. I know that you can feel my pain. To me, it throws off the whole look of the car to have this black plastic exposed against the chrome door handle. I wish mini would have designed this better. They could have just incorporated the key slot as an exposed slot on the door handle. It wouldn't have taken away from the look of it.
My dealer says he thinks they will be having more issues with this than they originally anticipated. I'm going to try to come up with a way to make this piece more secure. When I get the new piece, perhaps I can put some sort of tack plaster on the inside of the piece, so that it sticks, but can be removed if necessary. Let me know if any of you have had this issue; or if you have any suggestions for keeping it in place better.

I have a Samsung Note 3 android and interested in this report. Have you contacted the dealer?

The only "problem" so far is completely cosmetic. The plastic wrap that comes on the cars to protect them left a sticky residue on the front bumper. They tried for like an hour to get it off the day we bought it but finally gave in and decided to have us bring it in this week to let the body shop take a look at it. I tried goof off or somthing like that and it seems like it will come off but it took an incredible amount of effort for an area the size of a quarter. Hopefully they can hook us up and get it buffed off. I am sure they can. So far the rest of the car is amazing! I've never owned a vehicle this refined before.
