USB can connect with the iPod. $500 for a CD player- who listens to CD's now? Also has Bluetooth so can hookup with your phone.
Ditto on the iPod via USB, memory stick via USB, any portable media player via the Aux. Audio input. Bluetooth phone as mentioned, media player possible, but you are on your own for support.
HK upgrade, same options.
Seems CD playback has now joined cassette and 8-track as something one can look back on with great fondness.
I chose not to go with a CD changer/player because I rarely listen to CDs in my car. I didn't even order the satellite radio (which I had on my '11 Buick LaCrosse) because I am hooked on Pandora. I can listen to channels/styles that I like with no commercials for around $30.00 a year (Pandora One). I love it.
Does anyone know if the stock radio can play via bluetooth music? I know it has the Media Connect too just not the XL.
Also, what is better usb or aux?
The MINI website is not very forthcoming about the radio details, but buried in the features section under "Comfort and Convenience" (not "Technology and Audio" as it should logically be placed) it says "Bluetooth and USB Adapter" as standard. Here is the Features List: http://www.miniusa.com/content/miniu...-features.html
The Features list also indicates that the MINI has a "Bulldog Stance". That is extremely important to know.

Standard audio cannot stream bluetooth audio. Only the "Connected + Boost" radio (with 6.5 inch display screen) and "Navigation XL" (with 8.8 inch display screen) can stream music. And with XL you also get 20GB hard drive music storage.
I'm a bit annoyed that the standard radio won't stream blue tooth. Most low end econo cars on the market have it, but I guess it's how BMW can squeeze a few more dollars out of their customers.
