F55/F56 Release date for sale?
Release date for sale?
Anyone gotten official word from their dealer as to when they can sell the F56? I know multiple dealerships now have them in stock, but haven't heard when they can release them.
I don't think multiple dealerships have them yet. Some got them to train the MAs, but I don't think any ordered F56 cars have been delivered, although one person's car arrived in port and is to be at the dealership Friday. That's the first F56 arrival on this forum. It won't be long before we all can go see/drive one at a dealership.

I know of multiple people that have already test driven them here in the US (not MA's...customers)...but don't want to steal someone else's thunder

Steve, they don't only have cars for test driving. They have cars (mine for example) that were bought (and a down payment made) by customers. So now mine, which was delivered to the dealer today, will sit out in the elements for three weeks before I can take it home. The more I think about that the more upset I am. I have never heard of anyone having to wait 3 weeks to take delivery of a car they ordered from the factory.
My dealer have two base model and one S for sale they are for sale and you can test drive them.

They can schedule test drives. Just not in a car that belongs to a customer. Like yours or mine. My dealer, used some of their build slots for themselves. These cars will be used for test drives, dealer cars and later down the road will be sold as certified.
Released in Canada
I'm a MA in Alberta Canada - launch date for the F56 here was March 15th. 3 people have taken delivery since then and have/had over a half dozen in stock.
Launch day I thought was supposed to be April 15th for you folks on the other side of the border...

this seems to be the case as a few of us have verified with our dealers that although cars may arrive sooner, might be test driven, but can not take delivery until April 15th. I have verified this with my dealer in Denver and like 3 others have done the same. We are all getting the same word on this.
Blame Canada.
Hmmmm actually, I will be in Toronto next week for work....I may just have to swing by a dealership.....if I where an ugly plaid shirt and say "eh" a lot they wont know the difference. I will start practicing my aboots now.
Steve, will your dealer be storing yours indoors?
Ah. Well that is better than my situation. Just found out that my dealer does not have a warehouse, so my MINI will be stored for the better part of 3 weeks outside. I'm not a happy camper right now. So near.....and yet so far. :(
I am not laughing at you but I just had this mental image of a middle age man standing in a parking lot holding an umbrella over his mini in the rain trying to shield it from the elements. I'm sure your car will be fine.... Get them to detail and wax prior to delivery and all will be well.
