1) European order were so numerous that US orders were delayed. Not sure if US cars have started production yet...?

2) There is a delay in production on cars with HK sound systems...

3) Cars with the "Fully Loaded" package have an indefinite production delay due to shortage on supply of parts...

All of this according to Lauderdale Mini as of March 2nd, 2014.

 

I was told if I order now will get it sometime in April, no mention was given to me about a delay in production with HK sound systems but wouldn't surprise me if it was true. I don't want my car until May so the dealer is holding my order.l

 

Wonder how long they are talking for the delay on the fully loaded?
If it is 2 months then you might as well wait for the 2015 models. This is the risk of wanting to be the "hip-kid" in town for the first few months...
you get all the production and ordering problems before they are sorted.
you get all the design failure problems.
you get all the manufacturing failure problems.
This is bad news if it is true.

 

I just checked mine today and it says Scheduled for Production.

 

I ordered the HK system and my F56 has moved to Awaiting transport as of this morning!

 

John, when did you place your order? My order (placed around February 17) still says 'Scheduled For Production'. I really hope I get it by mid to late April.

Weird! Mine was ordered on 2/6 and it's still listed as "Scheduled for Production". I wonder how Mini determines the order of production????

Mine was also ordered with the HK sound system, so apparently that's NOT a problem (as was previously speculated).

 

Good question. I'd speculate it'd be by parts availability (right now anyways), but maybe they're doing runs by color and including stock builds for dealer inventory? No idea.

I did order the Fully Loaded Package so maybe there is, indeed, a temporary hold on mine. I also order the HK upgrade.

 

Oh crap mine might be awhile then as we did order a lot of options.

I was told by the rep at the dealer today that although they can replace a few dealer stock orders with custom orders he cannot order mine as I am requesting the Fully loaded package which includes the HK audio which is currently unavailable.

So I wait.

My dealer also told me that he can't physically place my order until those packages become available for production again...is this true?

If so, I would REALLY appreciate it if you would PM me when your dealer calls you to confirm your order, just in case mine forgets to call me...

Wow you guys are so lucky.
We here in Canada get the "tin can and string" service.
I put a deposit on my car on Feb 19th. I phoned Mini Canada for an update and the girl just complained how outdated the software she had was!
No info what so ever. It is a wing and prayer kind of thing. My dealer said end of April...how long is the boat ride.....I'm sure they would have to start the build soon to meet that date. Fingers and toes crossed!

 

I hope so. I will update this thread when my status update changes.

 

We order our CM on 2-23 and it still says "scheduled for production". We picked the upgraded HK system so we will see how long it takes.

 

Update on my order...my dealer rep. said he was able to have my order processed for Week 13 production despite the fact the HK and Fully Loaded package are listed as having a hold time for production.

So this means they "found two in the back office" to install on my car?? Either way, excited the car won't be delayed!

On another note, while the configurator does not allow manual transmission cars to be optioned with the "automatic" park assist feature, my dealer was somehow able to get this done! I have a feeling it will cause an error in the system during order processing, but I'm hoping for the best anyway!

Finally, there is apparently a "JCW package" showing up on dealer systems, which includes the JCW steering wheel, Diamond Punch leather seats, and another option I've forgotten at the moment. I assume it is there to provide a discount since my car was optioned with those things anyway. For those of you about to place an order, I would be curious to know what you could find out about this from your dealer...

The HK option is indeed causing delays.

I just rescinded my order until they have a better handle on their supplier issues. Local dealer offered to take $750 off the price but I declined for now.

They are having a lot of logistics problems and I am slightly concerned about the quality for these first few cars until that is sorted. This is normal for a new production run so I'm not bashing at all... I just got cold feet in being one of the first to own a new F56

 

Yippee! My MINI has finished the production stage and is awaiting transport! I have, as a reminder, the HK option included, so apparently that option is no longer an issue. Or maybe never was. In any event, I now can excitedly await the delivery of my MINI S.
