Something happened to suspension. Super loud clunk.

I was driving today and all of a sudden the front end started making a crazy loud clunk noise any time the road surface was even a little bit uneven. It was almost scary to drive and I thought I wouldn't make it home.

I have to try to figure out what happened tomorrow. Any tips would be great.

The car shifts fine, It still drives at highway speed (even though I shouldn't have).

I'm thinking it could either be the lower engine mount (I checked the main one and it was replaced recently it looks fine). or maybe a sway bar bushing or something else.

Not sure if it would be the CV axle because that would probably make the car not accelerate at all.

The problem doesn't get better or worse with turning.

Also, I recently went a little wide on a roundabout and the front passenger tire hit a curb maybe around 20-30mph. After that happened, a less loud but similar noise started to happen when I would cold start the vehicle and also when coming to a stop when the transmission downshifts to 2nd. However again, it seems to shift okay. At least there isn't any weird delays or noise when car is upshifting.

Glad you found that!

I'm guessing a brake service was performed, and they were never torqued back down...
