Limp mode will restrict top speed to a max of 30 MPH or thereabouts. What causes it can come from a multitude of issues. Mine has been there twice, once from a broken wire in a cable run and the other a result of high altitude. Good luck in chasing down yours.

Well turns mini not in limp mode, just a software glitch that limited boost and caused other functions to get turned off.
after a trip to dealer.. software update car is back to normal, unknown what caused glitch, other then car has a computer and we all know
what goes wrong with those things!

Did the dealer give you any other information such as a code? My car has been doing the same thing sans the start/stop issue and I think it might have been the Dinan module I had installed.

i had no warning lights or cel, i did not have code reader, i removed power module did not correct itself, got a 7am appointment the next day, brought it to dealer
they flashed the cpu with new updates, told that takes a couple hours, gave me a loaner car, washed the car, got it back in one day, told me the car had not had any updates for over 2 years,
it has 2 year warrantyi f it happens again no charge. so for $170 all is good, put the power module back on 2 days later, 4 months no problems.

yes i did ask for the secret codes while talking to the mechanic, that a normal reader would not find, almost got them then the service manger walked up and would not give them to me.
was just happy for the free loaner car, mini bubble bath, and a complementary bottle of water..

oh also spoke with the power module tech guy, was pretty sure the module would not cause the problem, unrelated, was willing to swap out my module no charge.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. I had the same thing on my car - just felt like it had no boost, definitely reduced power output, but I was still able to drive over 30mph. I scanned it later that day and for some reason my engine knock sensor freaked out, thinking there was a short circuit. I cleared the code and it has been fine ever since.

Limp mode light

OK, I have a 2012 countryman R 60 all-wheel-drive the limp mode light comes on but it only comes on when I do about 55 to 60 miles an hour long as I keep it about 40-45 maybe 50 the light never comes on soon as I hit the highway and get up to 50 to 60 a light comes on. I can park the car for a while and then get in and start it up The light goes back off soon as I hit the highway comes back on 55-60 miles an hour but as long as I keep it under 55 the light stays off. any suggestions cause I’m kind of lost
