new mini windshield distortion

I just purchased a new 2018 Clubman and noticed there is a windshield "rippling" distortion when sitting in the drivers seat and looking to the right across the windshield. Its noticeable from top to bottom of glass and only when looking across the windshield not straight through the glass. Went to dealer yesterday and sat in a few other Clubman's which weren't half as bad as mine but they still had a slight degree of distortion. Service dept. said they didn't see anything "unusual." I've only driven jeeps with a flat windshield, and wondering if this has something to do with the curvature of the glass and/or whether it's worth it to have dealer replace under warranty. Afraid that the glass replacement may lead to other problems.

If it's more severe than the others, stand on that as evidence that yours is out of spec.

Replacing a windshield is unlikely to cause any problems. It's pretty routine. Modern windshields are glued in place instead of using a gasket as they did a generation ago. This makes them less likely to leak; there's no chance for a rubber gasket to get nicked or twisted.
