Distortion on H/K High End Frequency?

Has anyone else noticed fairly bad distortion on the high end with the H/K? I have a brand new 05 - less than 3 weeks old - and I've noticed pretty bad distortion depending on what's playing - for instance Air's "Run" from the Walkie Talkie CD or Kraftwerk's Tour De France. It seems to happen with more electronic music and it doesn't matter if it's from the CD, XM, Ipod or Radio - all the same at certain frequencies.

It's more of a "crackle" on the highs. It also doesn't seem to matter what setting I have - Mini H/K, Electronic, Spatial, etc. Almost sounds like the Tweeters are already shot.

I've fixed the door rattle, but I hear the crackle too - only on certain program material. Its driving me crazy - still need to lock everything down with some dynamat, but don't know if that will help or not.

Cool - glad to know it's just the way it is. Like you said it's not on all material - just on some.

Maybe not cool...but at least we all stand in the same place. In my experience these sorts of things result from sympathetic vibrations - either in the driver itself (which is generally irrepairable) or, more likely, in the mounting system, or surrounding materials. One of these days I'm going to order a truck load of dynamat (or fat mat) and go to town on my body panels and speaker hardware.

nothing like adding useless weight to your car, only use what you need, you dont need to cover entire panels with dynamat for it to be effective.
