F56 Service Bulletin Master List

I'm starting to see several threads more or less saying "there's a service bulletin for that". It might be useful to catch all of the items in a single thread, with links to the relevant thread. As you post other threads in the replies to this message, I can edit this post.

Items:

1) Weeping wiper ducts. SI M61 03 04. See https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...56-post88.html

2) Manual shift **** comes loose. See https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...465-post2.html

3a) B38M Engine Low Idle Speed (automatic). SI M12 06 14
3b) B38M Shuts Off when Placed into Gear after Cold Engine Start (automatic). SI M12 07 14
Both 3a and 3b, see https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...75-post35.html

4) Drivetrain malfunction. C/R campaign 0012700300, 0071990100 (?). See https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...01-post61.html

+1000 aafflyer!

THanks for this thread. Hope people will being to use it to document concrete TSB / service info.

And just for my education, I take it the public is not privy to TSBs? Are these not posted on publicly accessible sites?

Request for the Mods...

Can the Mods make this thread a sticky for this section of NAM, so that it always remains on the top and folks can easily add to it, updated information?

Thanks!

I can't think of a good way to address this with the dealer but the car (about a month old now) has been a little buggy for me, electronics-wise.

Car has hesitated to turn off a few times. Required toggling the start switch three or four times to get it to shut down. Car also has died at random times while just sitting in a parking lot or something (auto-start always kept de-selected). Also, the channel-search button on the radio control has "not worked" a few times. Things which have not been a major safety concern but are frustrating, since I cannot duplicate them to show a dealer. *sigh*.

I just received a recall notice for this in the mail today in fact.
Not sure how many other F56 are effected.

What is their solution for the key cap falling off?

edit: Apparently, they must have a new revised part. I got the door handle replaced and now it's very sturdy without any glue.

Just got a call from MINI today for a "recall" related to the oil filter housing. I'm guessing they're tired of replacing engines.

After my AC/Heat unit was replaced, the new unit emits the same smell. Anyone else experience this? It reminds me of the smell of grease or lubricant. I work on bikes so it's a familiar odor. Only when the AC is on...

I also got this yesterday. Not sure what it is. Sad to have to do coding again. I might be mis-remembering, but I think the driving excitement display used to top out at 240lb-ft instead of 320 like it does now.

Interesting. I wonder if this makes cars with catless downpipes that haven't been throwing CELs any more likely to get them.

I know this is kind of late to reply to this but I got a catless downpipe. I was getting a CEL when it was installed and had to get a o2 spacer and the CEL went away. Then a week later have to bring it to the dealer cause it was time for a break flush. They said there was a recall and it was that DME update. After the recall was done I didn't get any CEL. But I did notice that the fuel gauge doesn't read properly. Shows full but my ODB reads at 73%. And usually what I do a round trip from home to work, I'll lose an orange bar but now it doesn't do that. A couple of round trips then a bar will go down then right away another goes away.
Made an appointment with another deal and will have it checked out.

I have a similar problem. The gas gauge on my NAVDY HUD shows 3/4 tank when I know it's full and the standard gauge agrees that it is full. Didn't do this before the software update.

Water in Boot

I hope this is the right place to put this. I recently discovered water in the boot, collecting in the well for the toolkit. After some research, it appeared to be an issue some others had too. I took my car to Mini of Mt Laurel, and they took great care of me . I have 44,000 miles on my 2015 F56, but they repaired under warranty. SI M51 05 16, insufficient sealing of rear hatch. The description says that they resealed body seams and replaced the rear hatch seal. It had to sit overnight for the polyurethane to dry. Now to wait for the next heavy rain,,,,

Just adding to the information based on something I learned during my recent 1-year service. My power folding mirrors were making a loud grinding sound when folding. This is apparently a known TSB, SI M51 06 16, where the folding mirrors need to be removed and relubricated. Seems to have taken care of the problem.

Coincidentally, for the first time today I heard a noise coming from the mirror when in reverse mode as it shifts down. Wonder if it is related to this?

For reference here it is:
