Ask for the small things that have low product cost and more labor cost such as window tinting, or ask for an actual spare tire, better floor mats, etc.

I also ordered my car. It seemed it wasn't a foregone conclusion that I was taking the car as when I went to close the deal, they asked me what it would take that day to close it. I already had some accessories in mind such as the cross bars for the roof rails and they readily threw them in. If you don't ask, you won't receive. I would ask for everything you desire. It won't cost you anything to ask.....

This! Definitely ask for cross bars and possibly the factory rack. If you don't at least don't get the factory bars, you're going to pay a lot more down the road to have them installed if you do decide to get them. Again, don't be afraid to ask for anything.

I got a MINI windshield sun shade.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing is to review APR/Lease Money Factor to make sure you're getting the best rate, and to simply SEND A TEXT OR EMAIL to the person at your dealership who is handling your deal asking, "Are there any additional loyalty or any other promotions that I can qualify for to improve my deal?" You want them to have your request in writing so they can't avoid giving you whatever they might have lurking in the weeds.

When you ordered the car hopefully they had you sign a credit app or some other document to lock in those aspects of your deal that can be locked, such as interest rate/money factor. You are entitled to whichever is better -- current rate or old rate from order date.

Sadly, if there was a higher cash incentive that expired prior to delivery, those don't carry over. BUT, take the time to calculate what the deal should have cost on order date, including the incentives available back then. Let's say several months ago, based on the agreed upon selling proce of the car, a person's lease payment would have been $400/month with minimum drive off costs. Let's say, at the exact same selling price today that identical lease, with identical drive off costs would be $410. In such an instance, I'd insist they find a way to get that lease payment back down to $400 WITHOUT any additional drive off dollars from me.

Bottom line,as always, know all the numbers and all the moving parts and grind from there!!

Enjoy your new MINI. So cool.

Nice! What color did you get? What dealership? May I assume you got most of the options? Was the car over $50k? I'm gonna be in the market for one of those bad boys later this year most likely.
