Greetings from Singapore, the most expensive country to own a car in the world.
Just ordered a Pepper White F54 to replace my 520i coming in 3 months time. No add-on except the HK speakers (it didn’t come standard in my place). Total cost? Bloody 121k usd.
Let the counting down begins, can’t wait for it to arrive!
Yes taxes. We have a 200% base tax on all vehicles.
The killer portion is what we called a ‘certificate of entitlement’. Basically the country dictate how many of these certificates are available for bidding every single month. Per certificate allows u to register a vehicle for use for 10 years. After the certificate expired your car is basically scrap metal (they will compensate you some miserable residue amount).
I just got mind for around 30 grand, therefore I can enjoy my clubman until 2028.
Ridiculous as it may be, this is probably the only reason that prevents total road chaos in my small island.
so just suck it up and enjoy the ride! (While it last... hehe)

My R58 JCW was well over 140K USD and that's why you see them running around with the exotic car people and car clubs in JP, Malaysia, and surrounding places.
