Getting Team Dynamics Pro-Race Wheels delivered today...finally
After 10 months of waiting...I ordered these back when I placed the order for my F54 JCW in April of last year my white Pro-Race wheels are finally being delivered today. I'm astounded it took this long.
So no photo yet (unless you want the tag UPS left on my door) but shortly. Depending on when they come in I'm going to run and get them mounted with the stock runflats that came on the car since there is plenty of life left in them at 15k and it will defer the cost of getting a new set of tires.
Outmotoring. I know they had a change in distributors during this process plus I've heard how things are mis-managed at Team Dynamics but yeah 10 months was ridiculous. I'm mildly annoyed but it's a luxury item, wasn't needed, etc. I'd hope future orders wouldn't take as long but that's a conversation for outmotoring.
Long awaited post of the wheels actually on the car. Too bad I just cracked one, should have ordered an extra. I was able to order 1 from ECS and the full size "spare" I'll keep now that I'm not using run flats.
Those wheels look great on the car, sucks that you cracked one!! Hopefully the replacement takes less than the original delivery time and you can get back to the complete look.
Update, got that wheel in...and it another immediately cracked. I don't hit things. I'm generally good about avoiding potholes/bumps/etc. This is now the 3rd Team Dynamics wheel with cracks. Never again...
Wow, quite the 4-year odyssey with those Team Dynamics wheels! Seems being cast vs forged and so lightweight isn't a good combo for real-world streets and highways.
Mine are the older generation T-D Pro Race in 4x100 (no cast-in letters), but thought those wheels were much more stout than that. I've been shopping for a matching NOS wheel w/o success but thinking now, better instead to seriously consider forged aluminum in a design that'll clear my front big brake calipers.
I am on my TD wheels and no issues. No cracks or anything. Been on for about 3 years in 17" on 40 series tires. Are you running skinny sidewalls, runflats?
I was on runflats until Sept of 2020, for the last year+ I've been on a set of Continental 225/40's. Same size as stock.
The first set of 4 I ordered through Outmotoring, the single replacement I ordered through ECS. The OM order took 10 months (6 months longer than est.), the order with ECS was delayed multiple times. Between the cracks and absurd delivery times, I'm out with TD. Even OM stopped carrying them because of the service/delivery times.
Looking for something new, just haven't picked the one yet...
Looks like TD is having some either design or material related issues, certainly not good. I have been running a set of TSW Nurburgring wheels on my Mustang for just over 10 years now (3 sets of tires) and have put at least 15 track days, 15 auto-x events and 7 multi-hundred mile road trips on them without any issues/cracks. Just some real world data. I know there are a lot of other good wheel manufacturers out there, just wanted to present that.
