Upgrayedd Thunder Gray JCW F54

So tonight I picked up my new mini, my previous one was an 04 R53 this one is an F54 JCW in Thunder Gray/White Roof.

It was optioned as:
Navigation/Tech Package
Premium Package (sunroof, HK, comfort access, 40/20/40 rear).
Mini Yours Steering Wheel
Mini Yours Illuminated Piano Black
Roof Rails
Heated Front Seats
Black Pearl Seats
6-Speed

Left the dealer a bit late so the few picks I took sucked but tomorrow I'll grab some better ones and post them here.

Initial impressions? Wow this thing is solid. I drove a Clubman S and purchased the JCW without driving one thinking it would tighten up all the things I thought felt "loose" in the S model and that sums it up perfectly. It's amazing how fast this thing gets up to speed without feeling fast but you're already doing 20mph over what you thought. Really excited about getting more time in the seat.

Already added a Whalen shift ****, looks great and adds some heft to the shift. It was one of my favorite mods to my R53.

I did almost the exact same thing. I liked the Clubman S All4 but the JCW was too tempting. I love driving my JCW F54. Its not the fastest car in the world but its quick and so much fun! I am thrilled I went with the JCW.

Knabbed some shots today at lunch before the rain comes. I'm surprised at how much Mid mode is fine for around town stuff. Granted there is only 50 miles on the car but I found myself not using Sport mode unless I was somewhere that allowed a little more spirited driving. I also haven't been using the HUD but I was wearing polarized glasses which made viewing difficult. Oddly seeing the Nav screen was just fine.

I'm supremely happy with the Whalen shift ****, man it just feels so great. I think I like this one better than the one on my R53 and it looks fantastic. The one on my R53 was the same finish but looks polished now thanks to 200,000 miles worth of shifting. It makes the shift boot look soooooooo cheap. That is next to be replaced.

Have a couple mods that should be on the horizon:
Debadge (Tonight?)
Cravenspeed Scissor Phone Mount (should have next week)
Team Dynamics ProRace 18" in White (2-3 weeks. Still can't believe MINI dropped the white wheel option).

Looking forward to seeing photos the Cravenspeed phone mount in an F54. Since the gauge pod doesn't sit as far forward of the dash like it does in the F56, I've wondered if it would really fit well. I didn't realize that they had started listing fitment for the F54, haven't looked for a long time ... but since they now list it, I suppose it fits without hitting the dash.

It was listed on Outmotoring, I didn't check Craven's website. I had a ton of points with OM due to the wheel order so it only cost me shipping to get it. Hoping it fits nicely.

My wife and I took a nice drive through the farmland north of the city last night. Windows open, sport mode, and some good tunes...

And we are in stealth mode! Debating about removing the 'clubman' badges too...

It will probably go soon, I loved spending time in Germany and all the cars had zero badging, plus I've always loved the sleeper look.

No blood, no clips lost. I've been working on cars forever but that is engine bay is slice city. I'd imagine the techs are ripping tons of rubber gloves.

That pic makes the engine bay look filthy, it doesn't look nearly as bad in person but 5600 miles...could use a clean up.

Mini should install these for every car that rolls off the line just for the drive-ability alone. It smooths out all the rough spots cruising around town especially at low speeds.

It really reminds me of when I got the pulley on my R53, all that low-speed parking lot "lurching" went away. These plug-in tuning boxes are the new R53 Pulley.

...and still waiting on Team Dynamics for a set of white Pro-Race wheels. I ordered these back in April, looks like from others it might be about a 5 mo. wait.
