Ordering question: JCW Clubman steering wheel options

Hi everyone,

I have been googling and searching this site looking for some information on the differentiation between the Mini Yours steering wheel as compared to the JCW steering wheel. I make good use of the steering wheel controls on my current car and want to know more about what the real differences are. Thanks in advance!!

It's basically the red stitching and the JCW logo.

I have it, I like it.

I have the JCW steering wheel with the paddles. The boot around the center console shift lever also has red stitching to match the red stitch on the wheel. Don't know if all automatics have the red stitching on the shift lever boot or if they do that only if you get the JCW wheel.

What's particularly pathetic in my case is I love seeing the tiny John Cooper Works badge on my steering wheel. Helps me pretend that, with my Dinan Sport Tuner, I'm JCW-ing. Sad, but then, this thread demands honesty

I like the honesty. Are there functional differences in the controls on steering wheels?

The two optional wheels have the same functionality.

That's what I needed to know!! I am going to order my JCW Clubman this weekend. Now that I know what will happen with 3.0 diesels from that German people's car company.

Good for you!! You're gonna love the Clubman. Have fun playing with the various configurations. Remember, the JCW has a firmer ride than the S. The dynamic suspension is a great option. And most agree that every inch of wheel diameter you add increases sensitivity to road imperfections. The larger diameter wheels look great, but you pay a price in ride comfort.

If you haven't already, school yourself on how to buy a new MINI,

and best of luck to you!!

Doesn't the JCW steering wheel and shift boot come on the JCW car as part of the package? I did on mine. I thought the OP was going with the JCW car no?

THE JCW Steering Wheel is the "Standard" option on the JCW clubman but I wanted to know what was truly different between that and the Mini Yours Steering wheel

JCW Wheel is also faux perforated and the grips are a little thicker. The MINI Yours wheel of course has grey stitching instead of red, union jack instead of the JCW logo, smooth leather, and I find that the leather itself is softer than the JCW and stock wheels.

Sirius pretty much nailed it but here are my observations.

JCW steering wheel.
Thick wheel, very firm leather with little padding. Red stitching and perforated inner leather portion.

Mini yours.
Thicker than jcw, softer too. All smooth leather no perforations on inner portion. Light gray stitching.

MINI Yours wheel is just a softer smoother leather. It's what I got on mine and no regrets I think it feels great, BUT it's really just personal taste. Go and touch them in person, it's the only way to appreciate how they are different.

Mini Yours wheel has the same Napa leather used in the BMWs. Very nice feel.
