I believe that there are a few places to rent MINIs, but they will be hard to find and rather expensive. With a quick google, I found this...

Sounds about right and unfortunetly the Euro rate against the dollar is not doing so well right now. A vespa would be fun if the weather is nice.

Bottom line is that you could spend up to $300 a day on a car.

LOL, MINI is considered more of a luxery car here in the way of renting. Although driving one in Europe is fun, it would be advisable to make it a one day thing.

If you are heading to the Almalfi coast, it might be a good idea to rent one for a day and simply enjoy the drive and scenery. Also, gas is extreamly expensive here in Europe. Another factor for renting.

I wanted to rent a car when we went to London and was talked out of it. Glad I was... We had more fun taking the tube getting from place to place. Here in Germany, the train is a great way to travel as well and I hear that Italy has decent transportation as well. However, expect to be packed in like a sardine if you go this route. Nothing like absorbing the local color.
