Germany in Late November: We need to go for a drive

Being without my Mini for 4 months is killing me.

I need some help, planning a drive through the twisties after I get out of here. Was thinking about late November, maybe heading back to the Odenwald or something. I'm always willing to go and plow through the Black Forrest some more, too.

I've only got small parts lingering at the house -- we could throw together a mod party in conjunction with this, if people have bigger things that need installing.

Any preference for the date? Or the place?

A reprise of the pulley party, perhaps?

You know, I caught daflake in the motor pool on Thursday, trying to rock the engine out of a HMMWV, muttering to himself about needing to check the pulley.

Maybe he doesn't need a Mini event when we get out of here -- he might need an intervention!

(Did you ever do your pulley?)

That hummer is now super charged!

I wanted to spend more time with Abu but I know you are busy and oddly so am I. Typically at these events we are invited and then ignored but they have taken us in and embraced us so I am actually working. Go figure....

I am also up for a run if we can make one. Not sure about late Nov as the same group that I am supporting has another event. I'll have to check the calander but I would like to break, I mean mod someone elses MINI.

Abu, have you cleaned up that desk yet?

slacker....

A little late to the party. Haven't had a chance to get together with any fellow Motorists (2 years in D-Land, 1 year with the MINI, one trip to Paris...sad). My MINI is lonely and needs to meet others like her.

There is an active member in K-Town (Kaiserslautern/Ramstein) and weekly trips to the Nordschliche are a moral imperative.

How bout a NAM Ex-Pats in Germany 'Ring run?

A run to the ring sounds awesome. I had hoped to spend time there this summer, instead of in Romania, but hey, it happens.

I can rule out Thanksgiving weekend -- will be in Italy for a week around that time (and they're calling it "work", too).

How's the weekend of 17 NOV?

And where?

Not sure if this will be good for me or not. It seems that there are a few things happening around that time. :(

I know exactly what you mean. I moved here from idstein , 20 mins away from wiesbaden 10 years ago and yet still dreaming about moving back. If my plans work out I might be living there again really soon.

I was thinking 10/11 NOV. Maybe run the Odenwald. I went looking across Google Earth for something between here and Amberg, and it's all freakin' cow country, daflake!

I could make a Sunday at the Ring....

Of course, I'd have the small ones with me. They'd need to hang out with one of you two wile I run a bit, but I should think that this would not be a very big obstacle...

Hello to all!!
Let me know the plans for the ring and the time on sunday. Also on my way to work a civilian car was parked facing the incoming traffic under one of the bridges with some kind of camera mounted on the dash board and two civilians inside the car. The vehicle that was infront of me was no red flashed, no camera outside on the tripod and nothing. Is this a something new in Germany intead of the speed trap red cameras? Henry

Could be tailgate trap. The film you from point to point and then measure they distance you were from the car in front. Fines can get pretty steep if you are too close.

Hello daflake!!
I hope is only that, because I was like 100 meter away from the other vehicle. Well... My passenger motor mount broke last week and was leaking black fluid. I just replaced it and took me 1 hour only, very easy installation. Henry
