Electrical Extra 12Volt Plug
Extra 12Volt Plug
Today was productive! I relocated my aux input to the parcel shelf and also installed an extra 12V socket in the shelf. It's very nice! I did a lot of searches here on NAM and on Google for pictures, diagrams, instructions... anything to assist. One thing that seems to be a common complaint is the lack of info on the fuses. It is quite con'fuse'ing...
Atop all the complaints, my 2006 fuse box is very different from everything I could find on the web. As a result, I haven't really found a suitable circuit to tie into for my new 12V socket. Right now, I'm using #35 but it doesn't power in the key #1 position. I first tried the circuit labeled as the cig lighter, but it was powered without the key even in the ignition while the cig lighter wasn't powered! WTF?! I'm not even sure I trust the label on the door now.
Does anyone have a solid diagram of the 2006 fuse boxes?

This thread https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=14140 is attempting to figure out this same problem... It's crazy that so many people are having to guess at what the fuses do...

I think what you're looking for isn't available in a 10 amp circuit, which if I remember correctly is all that the Add-A Circuit is rated for.
I'd suggest moving down to a 5 amp circuit which is fine if you're just using the socket to do things like charge a cell phone or MP3 player...

Not that I can answer your question for sure, but I know I get a lot of people through my MINI Fuse Tap page, and I have not yet heard one complaint of it not working. Normally I will, for example when they changed the door panels with 05s. So please try that and let me know if it works.
Cool, thanks for looking. I'll have to see your install sometime. It's convenient!

Who me?
I have a lunch with a friend at 11, so afterwards, I might be able to make it over to catch the crowd... not sure yet.
