I just ordered my kit from Ian! I don't even have my MINI yet, not to mention the production number from the dealership! Let the obsession begin.

YES!
Welcome to the fanatics club ... you are very much not alone in ordering stuff for a yet-to-be-built MINI.
I had a (then-unavailable-in-USA) six switch toggle panel and euro shelf ready for GBMINI#2 a couple months before it was built - of course both were installed before the car left the dealership

I am just as bad. Although I don't have a MINI circuit.. I have an "Actual Size" decal. It will be on the car before I drive it off the dealer lot. Heck I ought to install it just before they take the picture!

BAD NEWS!

Ian said he would make 1000 of these circuits and then quit.

He has sold 1000, and there are no more to be had.

(I'll sell mine - first offer over $600...)

I am hoping to find a way for someone else to sell the MINI circuit - that way I can be un-involved, but the community can still get it. If this happens though, there won't be garage opener versions any more.

Well, you guys monitoring this thread will be the first to know that ...
Parts are on order for another batch of MINI circuits!

I need to build an automated tester so the contract manufacturer can do everything and I can be un-involved in the production.

At the moment, discussions are ongoing with the aftermarket parts company and hopefully we will have an arrangement soon so the circuits can be sold to you all.
Sticking points for now include the install instructions - if I am un-involved, then there are no instructions unless (a) the seller (aftermarket MINI company) sorts it out or (b) the buyer downloads and prints their own.

If the discussions don't work out, there are a couple of other companies that have expressed interest - somehow we should find a company prepared to sell this circuit to you!

(note: manufacture will take at least six weeks!)

great news! so I'm guessing there are some sort of legal implications of them providing the install instructions? Part of my job is authoring service manuals for appliances and QA. If needed I could try to help put together a more polished manual.

That is good to hear. I am actually in the process of deciding whether or not to build my own (with help). I guess knowing if it worked on the 06 would be good, but my guess is that it'll work on the 06 just as well as on the 05.

Now, hearing this I I may wait until we get some idea of future pricing. I already know I'll like the auto-up a lot. I got the convienence pack so I don't need the garage door opener, and the track mode mod is not that important to me either thoug, so making my own seems like a possibly viable alternative.

Just installed mine on my 06 MCS this Sunday. Works fine. I only have the auto-up function, not the DSC disable. I ordered mine several months ago, even before I had the car, just hadn't gotten around to installing it.

Woohoo! Now if I get my convertible this spring, hopefully I'll be able to have an auto-up circuit in there as well. Very good news! Thanks Ian.

Thanx Ian.
I must say the circuit is a must have for the Mini. I use it every day. On most cars you can press both buttons at the same time to roll up the windows, but not so with the Mini. It just goes to show...if there is a need, someone will fill it.

Whew! I was sweating it out there. I didn't know how I was going to get one! I felt so left out. So inadequate. So down. So open.

This really is good news. ...and 6 weeks is pretty good timing for Xmas!

I have a feeling we will have to put together a huge group buy on these . I hope the fog light option will be an "option" cause I would like them to turn on when the headlights go on.

Dolmangar / Mike - excellent! Thank you so much for posting that news about the '06; I had no reason to suspect any issue but no confirmation either till then.

RoyalCooper - the garage control feature will not be a part of any future MINI circuit; I always had to custom make them and that won't be happening now; sorry.

FlynHawaiian - no fog control either.
