Conversion from Standard Halogens to Xenon ‘like’ Solution

I am potentially picking up a nice low miles 06 S this next week that has the standard halogens headlights. I used to have the Xenon’s on my original 06 which are still some of the best lights I have had.

Being that the Xenon’s have been around for 15+ years and many of us love modding our cars, has anyone found an as good solution?

I see a lot of reference to using the following headlamp assembly: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-helix-pa...ni01hl-bc~hlx/

However, I am not sure what bulb solution would be a close match to the Xenons.

Is the consensus that LED is the right solution or HIDs?
Is there a specific solution I should be considering?
Is this going to be plug n play or will I need to do some wiring?

It seems like there is a lots of older discussion sorta on this topic but gets a little hazy.

Thank you in advance 😀

Those headlights have been delayed with many others due to the factories in Taiwan being shut down for a period. We hope things can come back in the future.

All the info is here:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...installed.html

Is the consensus that LED is the right solution or HIDs? Yes if the headlight is projector and has the correct cutoff ( No offroad truck blinding set up)
Is there a specific solution I should be considering? Xenon or LED retrofit kits for the bulb it matches
Is this going to be plug n play or will I need to do some wiring? plug and play with what it has, the retrofit kits piggyback off the wiring

Welcome, no problem. 99% of the info is usually on here, just got to dig. I will take the other 1% super hard question in a PM.

Wanted to see if there has been any update to the headlights coming out of back order. I have a set on order, not sure how many other NAM members also in the same spot.

Thanks!

Question: ....
Can anyone tell me, with 100% certainty, On the R53-LCi Halogen HL equipped cars,
do the low beams stay on when you turn on or flash your high beams??

The answer to this question would dictate if HID upgrade is OK for the Low Beam use.

Also... In general, inexpensive LED 'bulb upgrades' are not a good idea... expect to pay near $200 for a set that is worth having.

Low beams are a consideration.

If the low beams do not remain on with the halogen configuration...Going to HID conversions in the halogens ...or with an aftermarket 'projector' with halogens in it and converting that to HID... really is not going to be functionally good.
