Looking to upgrade my halogen headlights with LED replacement bulbs

I have an F55 2016 with the stock Halogen headlights, using the H4 halogen bulb ....i want something brighter....i upgraded to the Philips X-treme Vision halogens which are maybe brighter, but not really much difference

I would like to upgrade to LED bulbs...but not sure how the pattern and focus will be in the MINI and also don't want to set off and codes or flicker and do not like the blue-white of some LED's ....looking for a pure white and BRIGHT LED ......has anyone out there upgraded?

I got the "Hikari Ultra LED" headlight bulbs off of Amazon. At first they caused the headlight error code, but the vendor sent me the load resistor adapter for free, which took care of the headlight error code.

The lights are white and bright and work great. You can rotate the direction the LEDs face, so you don't blind others. I've had them for about 4 months now and haven't had anyone flashing me. They do flicker for about 10 seconds when I first start the car but other than that they work fine.

I upgraded my wife's F56 using the GTR Lighting Ultra 2 bulbs. They slotted right in place of the standard H4 bulbs. I did code the car to LED as well as turned off warm and cold monitoring. The lights are bright white and are considerably brighter than stock while retaining the stock beam pattern.

I used a bluetooth OBD2 adpater from Veepak. The software was the full version of Bimmercode for iPhone.

Looking at upgrading to led headlights using the gtr lighting ultra 2, do you have to leave the bulb cover off the headlight when you do this to let the heat out?

Not at all, I’m fact it is somewhat beneficial to leave the cap on as the GTR bulbs do create heat, but not nearly as much as the incandescent bulbs did. Leaving the cap on keeps some heat in the headlight shell there by giving it some defrosting capabilities in colder climates. The Morimoto led lights now vent out the front of the bulb for the same effect.

I ended up purchasing the Morimoto 2 Stroke 3.0 H4/9003 bulbs. There wasn't any instructions provided in the box. I have seen other H4 bulbs were the mounting base comes off so it can be installed in the headlight and the retainer clip put back in place then the bulb is inserted back into the base. It doesn't seem like the Morimoto comes apart unless I'm not doing something right. Has anyone installed these bulbs that can share how you installed them?

Think their is little set screws on the insert flange to the main led, when i did mine on my wifes CRV projectors, thats what i used. I like them in projector housings. Nice thing is these are cup design/better LED focus unlike most others so they will not blind people that much in the factory reflector non focused hosing.
