r53 3rd brake light install help

Hey guys,

lens on my 3rd brake light is cracked and well completely gone so my boot has been leaking. I bought a new one from OutMotoring but I have run into some trouble with the install.

I was trying too hook-up the replacement and i feel like i may be missing a wire. So i looked at the OEM one to see if the adapter would just detach from that one, but it appears to be soldered to the board. I have attached pics and could really use some help!!!

I had to replace on recently. Should be two wires, and plug right in.

I think I found it cheapest on Amazon (of all places).

Your wire colors look right. I don't remember what color the wires were on the replacement. If it didn't work when you first plugged it in, then send it back! Outmotoring is a good company, and should stand behind what they sell.

Guessing your part is bad...
When I swapped mine out with a used oem one from waymotorworks, it took me 5 minutes...
Any chance it had a "pulse " unit on it...and the wire came unplugged when you pulled out the light?
You might need to fish around for it...or just splice wires if the plugs are different...
Looked at the pics...
Edit...Maybe you got the wrong part...might be the gen2 part..

no, this is exactly what the one i pulled out looks like: http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...ake_light.html then im replacing it with this one: http://www.outmotoring.com/black-led...ake-light.html and this one has no wires, just two pins with a piece of plastic that looks like something should be attached too

I just replaced mine the other day with the same blacked out one ordered from outmotoring. The two pin connector seems like it only fits one way, but you actually have to reverse it. I pushed the white plastic back a little on the new one to get the connector to fit. I'll take a picture of it if you need.

It didn't bend much but to make it fit, I had to force it a little.

So did you get this to work? I bought the same one and mine's not working either. I tried all ways.
