Electrical Heated Seats: Connecting 1st Gen to 2nd Gen
Heated Seats: Connecting 1st Gen to 2nd Gen
Hi Everybody,
I recently retrofitted my R53 with a heated seat wiring harness from ecs, please see the thread here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ted-seats.html
Now I am looking to connect my R56 seats/wires to my R53 harness. I have included some pictures of what it looks like (numbered from left to right).
1. R56 Seats in R53
2. R56 Seat Connector, as you will notice, some of the wires are missing (airbag i believe) because I followed this how-to when retrofitting the seats: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-and-pics.html
3. The R53 Heated Seat Harness connector (which is installed and ready to go).
I contacted the dealership for parts and they recommended I buy the following parts, see pics below.
4. Front view of the empty female connector I purchased, that fits onto the R56 male connector.
5. Back view of the empty female connector, where all the wires go, not pictured are the little metal thingies that go at the end of the wires, I have those as well.
As you can see I have three wires coming out of the r53 connector and somehow I need to connect with what looks like 7 wires from the r56 connector. I am assuming the brown is the ground. Can anyone please help me figure this out? I would like to use the connector in case I want to take the seats out, but if that is not possible, maybe splicing and soldering would be the best option? If so, what wires?
Thanks
