Ok I know this has been on here several times but I'm trying to figure out this scan gauge deal.
I have a 2002 Mini Cooper S is there a way to get the scangauge to read the oil pressure on my car? If this gauge reads what I've read on here then do I even need any other gauges?
I know you have electronic and mechanical gauges I'm assuming you can do a electronic gauge. I have read about adapters to the oil pressure sensor?? And do you have all the things needed to do that set up?
Is there really any benefit to using the scangauge on a R53?

the benefit would be all the other gauges, for instance boost, intake air temp, volts, water temp, etc.
also anytime the cel comes on, you can turn the car off, scan, note the code, clear it, and assuming nothing is seriously wrong, continue on without ever having to leave the car.
im just saying, i have one, and its unfortunate that it doesnt provide oil temp/pressure, but the other functions have served me well.
i have it mounted to the bottom of the climate controls, above the cup holders with some strong velcro.

Where would be the best place to get one? And it does show boost? That would be awesome! Does it show the readings or is it all in codes and whatnot?

i believe i ordered mine from either way motor works, or amazon. it was over a year ago, so i cant remember haha.
it does show boost. and it does shiw the readings in "real time". i say that in quotes because, while it does deliver a constant reading, there is about 1 second of lag time since it is a digital gauge, rather than the analog kind that would require you to tap into an actual boost line.
i believe it has its own website as well where all the features may be more detailed for you. some basic points though, it displays 4 different gauges at once, scans/clears check engine lights, can log gas mileage if you are into that sort of thing, etc.
i just like the peace of mind it gives me. my car is pretty heavily modded, so its nice to be able to know whats going on. and if you ever get rid of the car, the scangauge2 can be plugged into any obd2 vehicle.
Sweet! I'll check it out although might be a little while just had the control arm bushing sway bar steering rack inner outter tie rods and ball joints. All bushing poly urethane from madness motor works. So so happy
do you have a smart phone? just get a bluetooth obd2 adapter and download the app torque and it works just the same as a scan gauge. it makes my life so much easier lol

Man that's a sweet set up what reads the boost? Manifold pressure?
No oil pressure through OBDII. Need to install oil pressure sensor and gauge. Craven/Marshall is great match to factory, matches interior, but install is work. Many threads on nam.
