My Mini went to the dealer for a front brake job. It also got a new coolant sensor and a new oil solenoid. And the dealer reprogrammed the car. Now I don't have a trip odometer all the time. It's on the BC rotisserie menu.

I like it the old way. Anyone know how to get it back with NCS Expert?

The only difference I see in the KOMBI is that CBS_STAT_20H was anzeige and is now sperre (display vs. lock) but this doesn't seem like it would affect the trip odometer display.

It is happening to other people who go in and the new version of the software is doing this. Not everyone is pleased as it cant be revered via the dealer and there was no indication it was going away.

Thanks for the link. It's for the R60s so I poked around more and found that they say changing WIPER_STAT_DISP fixes it. I will have to try this on the weekend.

Getting BMW to reprogram an E90 was like pulling teeth. Thanks for the new SW and all (though next time remember to activate my navigation!) but I can't believe the Mini dealers just do it without a complaint.

 

Changing WIPER_STAT_DISP to wert_01 puts the trip odometer back on the display. There is no signal that the wipers are on. With the new programming the choice is wiper display or trip odometer. The ability to display both is lost. There is a lot of information in R60 threads about this so I will have to remember to search more broadly next time.

I did discover the new programming fixes the problem with broadcast radio, satellite radio, USB, and Bluetooth level differences. All now have a consistent level.
