DRL for Canadian cars - way to disable xenon drl?

This is really annoying that the xenon lights are the DRL. The moment you start the car, the xenons are on. You can't even disable them but turning the switch to off.

I've coded a bunch of stuff on my US bought X5 35D, but I can't see where there is the option to enable or disable DRL in the FRM on the R60.

Any clues anyone?

I don't think that option shows in the display for Canadian models due to country regulations.

^^ Nope, it doesn't show. All I see is the option to adjust the sensitivity for the wipers, or the info messages.

There will be 4th sub menu (key symbol) where you can adjust other setting like.. unlock all doors, 3X blink turn signals. Do you see this?

I may be talking though my hat (have not done any of this stuff), but I think I read that you need to change the country coding first?

Mine is Canadian car too and my Xenon and tail lights are always on as soon as I start the car.

I will be really interested if you find a way to disable them.

I was just wondering why you find it is annoying?
Is it not the purpose of Bi-Xenon headlights to be on as DRL?

It would be nice to use the fogs only when the weather is bad so you don't reflect all that snow into your face.

You need to take the Canada region out of the VO string. $838 Then default at least the KOMBI and FRM modules. Then you will have the option to turn off the DRL in the BC menu. Then you can go ahead and make changes in the FRM module for different lights as well (like for me I have DRL set just for the front city lights).

Strobey --

I've been trying to limit the DRLs to just the city lights on my R60 with no luck! I can easily code the FRM but I have yet to find the right settings to turn-off all DRLs but the city lights. Would you mind listing the appropriate settings?

TIA,

All in FRM:

VERHALTEN_DRL_TFL set to drl_s

DRL_TFL_MIT_SML set to aktiv

You will probably also need to set the following to nicht_aktiv:
DRL_TFL_BLK_V_GED
DRL_TFL_KZL
DRL_TFL_RL_BL
DRL_TFL_RL_BL_1
DRL_TFL_RL_BL_2

Can you elaborate a bit? I've coded a bunch of stuff according to the guide here on the forums, but what do you mean by defaulting the modules? I assume the VO string I can just code out as the other ones?
