Electrical Countryman-Specific Coding - R60 Guide
How did you get the fogs to work when unlocking the car?
EDIT: Nevermind. I finally found a download link for it.
Anyone have spdatens_V67 and would be willing to share with me? I registered at BMWCoding.com over the weekend but my profile hasn't been approved yet so I can't view/download attachments. I found the post with the daten file but don't have access to it. Did a Google search for the past 15 minutes but haven't found a valid download link except at nsc-expert.com which is charging $15 to download it.

Hi, the old CHAMP module has changed because it has broken into the new (used) one with the same numbers, but you know, the VIN and the configuration are not correct, which means that practically nothing works except the radio. How do I upload my car's VIN, set all the configurations? by NCS Expert? or can it be uploaded via USB? In addition, NCS does not want to connect to the MINI and shows "Vin is faulty". I tried to bridge pin 7 with 8 and the other way around and nothing. Anyone have a good SP daten to mini from 2011? Please help...
Can anyone confirm if these codes are valid and if my description fits?
$520 - Fog lights (this is to activate fog light button in the center dash switch bank for halogen fog lights?)
$5A1A LED Fog lights ((this is to activate the fog light button in the center dash switch bank for LED fog lights?)
$522A Xenon Light (This is to change the VO to show Xenon Headlamps in place of halogen?)
Is there any similar VO for LED tail lights, side markers, 3rd brake light?

Its quite sad to see there is so little interest in coding these R60's these days. There is only so much that Carly can do, and changing the VO is not one of them.
As these R60's age i figured more people would be into modding them like i'm doing now. Sort of a refresh.
Anyhow i did manage to code in the fog lights and the xenon's for both CAS/FRM using NCSExpert (On Windows 11). Although i'm still not sure if there is a VO# for LED Fogs specifically. I just used the standard $520 for fogs and $522 for Xenon headlamps.
I didnt code anything in for the rest of the LED's i put in (side markers front/rear, turning lights, tail lights, 3rd brake light), i just turned off any checks for them, so no warnings will popup.
Not sure if this is the right way to go about this or not, so i did whatever seems to work.
Also not really sure if i need to remove any VO's for the original halogen headlamps and parking lights, im sure this info is somewhere in this thread but not easy to find.

what exactly are you trying to download?
Oh well i would have helped however i could. But seems you don't need any help now i guess.
Im still trying to figure out how to wire the front fog lights properly so the button bank in the center console will turn them off/on.
As of now i added the VO for the fog lights (520A). Although i saw another VO for LED Fog Lights which is what i have, but didn't use that one.
I replaced the button bank with a new bank that has the fog light button in it. Plugged it in and the rest of the buttons work fine, the fog light button does nothing, i am sure because the fogs are not wired in correctly. Still trying to figure that out.
Which # in the FRM should the left/right fogs go into? Any relay? etc...
There is just no info for this online, and nno one seems to know - which kinda stinks for me.

Help R60 Frm failure
Took my mini to the local shop for an oil/filter change and work on my cv axle. After the work, they claimed my FRM died and couldn't roll up my windows.
So now I'm searching through threads to better understand:
So now I'm searching through threads to better understand:
- Does the 2011 R60 have an FRM, BCM, or both? I ask because some forums that discuss FRM failure say the part number for R60s is 61356827072. But when I search OEM part vendors with my specific VIN, it says the module won't fit.
- Which would be the point of failure if the windows and turn signals don't work?
- Can I reprogram the FRM/BCM myself?
- What is the current software needed to code?
- Is there a getting started guide anywhere?

The FRM is in the cabin on the side near the pedals behind a panel. The FRM goes bad much more often than the DME.
Although bad coding can break both.
The FRM controls basically everything related to lights and windows. If this is bad your car will still start but you'll have a lot of random issues.
The DME is basically the brain of everything else. And if this is bad your car won't start, it will just click.
Most people use Carly for basic coding now. That's the easiest way.
But for more advanced coding best bet is still NCSExpert, with NCSDummy.
In use with a K+DCAN connector.
With this you still cant do things like code a DME and Program Key Fobs.
To code the DME its a bit more complicated.
You can use ISTA-P with a ICOM Next connector.
Do not attempt this using a K+DCAN connector. Its way too slow and will screw things up. While the ICOM Next uses the fiber connection, which is 100x faster then the serial OBD.
To program key fobs (i know this wasn't asked but figured i would share while i'm at it) you can use something like a XTools D8S with a KC100.
I've programmed many key fobs for my 2012 R60 with those tools.Yep, they are costly - but so is going to a dealer for a new programmed FOB. Eventually the tools pay for themselves.
Hope this helps.
