Xenon Retrofit w/ NCSExpert

Does anyone know the strings I need to modify in NCSExpert to enable my OEM Bi-Xenon retrofit?

I followed awalkthrough for adding $522 to my VO string in the CAS. I wrote the change to CAS, but that's as far as I get... and it still doesn't work...

I added it to the FRM. The latest thinking is that my FRM module is somehow bad... simultaneously my passenger window stopped working...

You've done something wrong.Which version of dates do you use?check again your FRM and CAS if there is the $522 string.

We (me and the head of bmwcoding.com) verified that the VO string was successfully added to the CAS and FRM. We think something is wrong with my FRM module, since at the same time my passenger window stopped working, as did one of my front marker lights...

People say the lights should turn on regardless of programming, but will flicker. Mine don't come on at all, nor do the turn signals.

To give an update on this, no coding was required. The install PDF from mini lists the wrong connector on the FRM module to install the pins into. (the black 51pin.) The grey connector had empty pins for the various wires. I hooked them all up and everything works great!

Did you do the complete retro with auto-leveling and washers? If so I would like to chat about the process as I am thinking of doing it myself. I have already retrofitted rear fogs and reprogrammed the VO in my car to get them to work. Are you saying that no reprogram was required of the VO was required?

Have you considered doing a DIY on this? I'm really interested in this retrofit. If I need to, I will make up the DIY if I figure out how to get it all done.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for the lights? And could you post up the pdf that you reference?

hey there. I just bought the bixenons to do this retrofit. I got the part list for the headlight washers and for the leveling sensors. How easy is it to put those in? Also does the harness/wiring that goes to the leveling sensor exist on non-xenon cars?

I'm dying to see the PDF on the retrofit! I have the headlight assemblies with the projectors, I've sourced all the parts but I'm hesitant to buy the rest without knowing how the procedure goes.

Can you share the PDF please?

you don't need PDF...if you search http://www.bmw-planet.com/diagrams/r.../r56/index.htm here for the schematic you can do it by yourself.just see the differences of the wires in the headlight connectors.

I'm really surprised that no one has done an actual DIY for this yet. We need one guide that includes the parts needed, whether this can be done without the levelers and such, some good step-by-step instructions on what wires go where.

If I could get all of that info, I would be more than happy to write a DIY and then take pictures to add to it later when I start and complete the retrofit

@Shoe Coupe I have not done this retrofit yet, but it's on my to-do list.
