Resetting air bag light after aftermarket seat install

Hey guys. I'm looking to get aftermarket seats in the future and i hear the install is overall not difficult but rather it's the electrical side that's difficult. I already have experience with NCS expert programming out bulb errors and the annoying chimes etc. but is it possible to use INPA or NCS Expert or any other program to disable the air bag light that pops up after the install? I've seen the resistor mod on another forum but i'd much rather use what i already have (NCS expert) to disable the light manually. Thanks!

Unless you have the programming and know what code changes need to be done, the resistance modification for the airbag ignitors are the only way.

Race car? If not I don't think your insurance company will be very happy covering any injuries that arise from you removing mandated safety systems... (side airbags...)

I've already used NCS Expert to disable bulb errors and disabling the annoying gong on start up. So i'm pretty sure i know how to program it. I just need the steps on how to disable it. I hear it's done through INPA but not sure where to go from there.

Member Firehawk618 succeeded with NCS Expert for the 1st gen. It is very likely possible in the 2nd gen as well.

Yeah you should be able to turn off the light by turning off the seat tensioners in the airbag computer. Those settings are available in the trace files from NCS.
