Electrical Making the alarm light blink?
). You have to be careful that you aren't inadvertently disarming the alarm during your test. Note that if you lock the car using the fob INSIDE the car, it will not arm the alarm.Try this test: key on, roll down the driver's window, key off. Get out (take the fob!), and lock the door using the fob button (or the button in the door handle if you have Comfort Access). The alarm light should start flashing.
Now, reach in the open window, and open the door using the inside handle (it'll take two pulls since the first one unlocks only). Your hazards should start flashing (imagine annoying siren noise accompaniment).
Was a bit tricky with that error I got but thanks to Chernobyl, worked out perfectly.
Btw, tried what you said and yes the flashers goes on
Now, what do you think of this draining the battery on a long term basis if you dont drive the car or something ???

Last night I was exchanging some emails with Chernobyl and thanks to him I was able to make it work !!
If you guys see my previous msg #22 - I had an error. So Chernobyl idea is using the V32 files in the c:\ediabas\ecu folder and V38 (for me) for everything else.
worked like a charm, check out the video
I can get the video to be in the post
here is the link
two things:
when trying to Open a door or the hatch it doesn't cause the hazard lights to flash
would this light on all the time drain the battery ........

I plan on doing this after some more reading, but I'm in Florida. If anyone else wants this done, ping me and we can work out a price so I can offset the price of the cable and sell it to my wife better. Right now, she is against me getting a $90 cable!
I was finally able to read my SPEG module and make this work! But one question. Why does the KOMBI module need to be coded as well? Right now my alarm light is working after only coding the SPEG module. Is there a specific purpose to coding the KOMBI? Or was it just coded at the same time and assumed it is needed to make the light blink? I hate coding the KOMBI if I don't have to as it resets the trip odometer, gas mileage, etc. Thanks.
Did you use the file I gave you to make it work ?? what was the problem, I saw you posted somewhere you had a BEST error ?
I coded both as thats what Chernobyl had said, however if it works only with SPEG than good
Btw, isnt it a sweet mod

I could not get it to work with the newer version of EDIABAS. I tried using the new ECU files, old ECU, tried using V38 and V40 DATENS. Pretty much every combination I could think of. I finally reinstalled the older version of EDIABAS that I have been coding with and used the newer V38 DATENS and SDGAT files you have posted and it worked.
So I'll just stick with my older version using the newer DATENS. It works for me.

I thought you had seen the email I sent out.
You had V34 I believed but in order for it to work, the set up I used was the V32 files in the c:\ediabas\ecu folder
and
V38 or V40 for everything else.
I believe the problem is v34 for ediabas.
Anyway;worked out

Why did I say to code both? Well, since the alarm LEDs are mounted on the tach I just assumed that the KOMBI would also need to be coded to receive and display the "alarm armed" indication from the SPEG. I never tried each one individually. If coding the SPEG is all that is necessary - great!
And I also hate coding the KOMBI for the same reason - wipes the trip meter, clock, etc.

Nice
Anyone in CT. U.S.A. have the capability to do this ?
Thanks in advance. Asked dealer today if they new anything about it and of coarse they didn't they told me to copy from here and there sure their techs could do it . Mike.
