you did this by making software changes only, no hardware or extra wiring?

please post the specific software changes

I had to do both since mine is a 2010. The two wires from the speg to combi needed to be run see PLAYLIFE posts on page 3-4.

In speg and combi module change DWA to aktiv

Heartbeat to 16

All is posted earlier in this thread specific lines etc

Same here.

Code:
HEARTBEAT_INKREMENT
    0sec
Exactly which settings did you change?

What country of origin is your MINI? Apparently some countries used a different tach that did not have the alarm light hardware.

Exactly, i have change DWA_VERBAUT, nicht_acktiv to aktiv, in both SPEG ans KOMBI module, and HEARTBEAT_ZEIT, 0 to 16min.
Origine country of my mini is france. Does it possible to flash the alarm light hardware and rewrite the good one ??

On WDS BMW for R56, I read :

"FRM: Footwell module

The footwell module activates the lighting system for the visual DWA alarm. The junction box electronics (JBE) forward the request on the K-CAN to the FRM. "

So i suppose there is some parameters to change in the FRM module ? Right ?

SF Bay area

Hi All,

By chance anyone in the SF Bay Area do some of this coding? Would rather see if I can find someone already knowledgable and can do this, instead of buying the cable and trying to figure it out...

I'm in Los Angeles and do coding. PM me if you'd want to make the trip or are ever going to be in the area.

Hello!

Sorry for my bad English but do you guys say that it don't work to code 2011 models?

We have a little R56 Mini one D -11 from Sweden (EU).

Default tacho don't have LEDS so I changed it to one WITH leds, and tried to code both SPEG and KOMBI but it still don't blink.

What could be a possible reason?

If someone can help me over team viewer i am willing to pay for the assistance over paypal.

Thank you very much and take care !!!

The light uses much less power than the ultrasonic alarm system it would normally be connected to.

Hey guys!

To make both my self and others understand the total of this project:

1. If not changing DWA_VERBAUT in KOMBI and SPEG modules from "nicht_aktiv" to "aktiv" works. Then we need to do the wiring thing manually.

2. Wiring thing, i dont really understand how we are going to wire from X14272 to X9002. Do we need to add 2 more cables? Or use existing?

Can someone please explain it a little better. Thank you very much!

just wanted to say thank you, I followed this guide and enabled the heartbeat on my 2013 JCW. Note, that duing the programming in KOMBI, only DWA_VERBAUT is there... then in SPEG both DWA_VERBAUT and HEARTBEAT_ZEIT are there to be changed. I got misled in thinking one variable was in each module.

In case someone comes across this later, I just tried to code on the LED and...no dice. Looks like I need to add the wires to get this working. Graphic below is shameless copied from previous post. I did find that you can order the required wire terminals from ECS tuning to fabricate your own harness though. You would order qty (4) of P/N 61130005197 (available here: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...h/61130005197/) You can extend the leads on the wire ends to be able to route from the FRM to the steering column.
