Better bulbs, need advice

hey all, im really interested in buying a new set of bulbs for my MCS. I just need a little more light and distance. Also, im a big fan of the blue tint that lights have (like the new Lexus vehicles) Honestly, im not too concerned about legalities because i dont see the chances of being pulled over for too bright of headlights and ive never heard of any cases of that happening around here. If you guys could just point me in the right direction or show me your recommendations, i'd really appreciate it.

Try 100w 7500k bulbs. The 7500k bulbs generally give off less light than an equivalent 5500k standard, but are very white and the extra 45w per bulb way over-compensate for the light deficit caused by the blue/white color.

Available at premiertekinc on eBay.

Yeah, good way to melt the housing. I wouldn't recommend that big of a jump in wattage, to be honest.

I just changed my bulbs out to Hella Optilux XP bulbs. They have a nice clear white/blue tint and appear brighter. I bought them to match my driving lights but I like them a lot, and even if I didn't have the driving lights I'd definitely prefer these bulbs to stock.

Well eventually, one of the more electrically-saavy people will drop into this thread to explain that nothing makes bulbs of the same wattage actually brighter than one another. The color just makes them appear that way. And I wouldn't go more than 10W or so higher than stock (stocks are 55W) without fear of melting the cans. So what you are looking for is a 55-65W bulb that's either superwhite ("appears" brighter) or blue (because you want blue).

I recommend doing a search in this forum. It's been discussed ad nauseum and there are links to various bulbs that people like. This threads will help you:

Nope, 2 and a half years now and no sign of housing degradation. I put the same bulbs in the OEM driving lamps as well. The 7500k bulbs seem to burn a bit cooler than the 5500k standards.

Bright & Bluish White..

I THINK THEY MIGHT BE REFERING TO THE "MARKETING DESCRIPTIONS" OF THOSE BLUE-RICE-JDM TYPE LIGHTS THAT MARKET THEIR STUFF AS "Our 55Watt=110Watts of Light" or hype it up by saying "5,000 Mega-Kelvins"
If it is blue light you want I say do it- the piaa cobalt (1 year warranty-keep reciepts piaa only) would be good keep in mind that THEY ARE ONLY 55WATT bulbs, BUT if it is more light and distance that that is a different story altogether. Then you should consider sthing like euro spec orsam 65w rallye bulb. IMO but stay away from cheaper Tokyo bulbs I paid 60 bucks for a pair and they sucked eggs, although they did "look bright" from the outside.
