Gauges - water temp vs oil pressure

What gauge would be more valuable to a daily driver, water temp or oil pressure?

Which one should be mounted on the steering colomn with the boost gauge and which one should go down below under the toggle switches?

Thanks.

EXCELLENT question and I'm going to be watching this thread. I'm disappointed that the temp gauge is a "dummy" gauge and I'd like to install aftermarket gauges to give me a better idea of what's going on in the engine compartment.

I mounted the boost & oil pressure on the column. I have plans to mount an AFR gauge soon as well. I'll most likely put it where the oil pressure is. I might move the oil down by the switches and add water temp down there too. The oil pressure is a trip to watch, it's really all over the place it ranges from 10 or 12 to over 100psi depending on temp & RPM. You can use it to tell when the oil is at full/normal temperature. I've never see an oil pressure gauge move so much. I think most OEMs must filter it to make it look more stable.

Get an SPA gauge that has both temps in it and mount that in your gauge pod. They are expensive though.

Water temp and oil pressure are both equally important, you can never have too much information about what's going under the hood.

My setup...
