2nd EIM "Mini-MINI Meet" at Mini Meet East Meet West, 3-5 July
Our EIM "Mini-MINI Meet" at Mini Meet East Meets West will involve us primarily as spectators for a subset of the larger group of events at Mini Meet East Meets West (MMEMW). As of now, we are not expecting to register and pay for the larger, organized events as a group.
(That fact should not discourage you from registering on your own in the Funkana, entering the Car Show, attend a banquet, etc. if you would like to do so. The full details may be found at http://minimeet2014.com/. Some EIMers may like to submit an A La Carte registration to pick up a commemorative t-shirt or polo -- the website will allow you to do this.)
You may recall that the first EIM "Mini-MINI Meet" up in Winona, MN was where we met our dear friends and MINI enthusiasts extraordinaire densan57 and smieska for the very first time. For the second go, we're looking forward to meeting up again with former EIMer and MINI mate deanman who plans to make the trip over from the Gopher State.
***The transit to Milwaukee on July 3rd is optional and designed for those who'd like to see the Lakefront Fireworks Show that evening and join us for our Kettle Moraine Drive on Friday morning. Others coming over on Friday may meet up with our group at Mt Mary University at noon.

Anyone have thoughts about the best strategy for motoring downtown to see the fireworks Thursday evening? They're shooting them off adjacent to Veterans Park along the waterfront. Summerfest will be going on just south of there next to Lakeshore State Park so it will probably be a zoo down there. I suspect parking will be at a premium in the immediate vicinity, but it looks like there may be good places just north of the area along Lincoln Memorial Drive (e.g., McKinley Park, or at North Point Custard) to park and watch. We could approach the area from the north along N. Lake Dr.

Sure wish you could have joined us. The weather could not have been better for the first week of July. Cool, dry, and sunny. Enjoyed meeting and motoring with everyone. Lots of new roads and new adventures. Glad we were able to connect with DDayKid and miniturns at the event. Watching Jeff and Sue in the Funkana was a blast.
Of course, I think my highlight was the Friday morning car wash.

We just got back. Came back the way of Chicago. Ran down Sheridan RD from Glenco to Lake Shore DR. Then Lake Shore DR to down town. A really nice drive. Spent the day down town Chicago. Found a great pizza place. And of coarse Sue went shopping. This was our funnest day of the weekend. The Funkana was a lot of fun too. I ran over one of their blow up pretzels. My bad, I think it was Sue fault. But we did win our class, Great job on the pics Gary.

You can tell this one's not the "official" photo since not everyone is at their car, and lots of folks aren't even looking at the camera.
The going rate for the panoramic print was still $50. No inflation.
