getting cold feet on a 2009 R56 JCW do we have a member that has one ?

The words out.... I put a deposit on a RED !!!! 2009 JCW .I have to travel about 700 miles, its gonna cost me alot and I'm getting cold feet. Do we have anybody around in the club that has one like it, that i could check out? I drove a regular R56 and was not impressed.

Wondering if I should eat my deposit and keep the R53. doh!

Looks like an nice car. I don't like the red stripes on the wheels and it seems to be missing the JCW badges? I think you will like it more than the regular MCS R56...

I was told the front badge is missing because of the brake duct option

Jim, superfly up in Dubuque has an '09 JCW. CR/B no less. Might want to send him a PM and get his feedback.

You'll see pics of his MINI if you check out the gallery from our Cassville Ferry Drive this past July.

I think they covered that in another thread. IIRC it was looked up and the car was a JCW when built. Even then, a stage 1 from MINI get badges from the dealership who installs it.

yea I hope its FJCW....., but we did investigate and found the corrrect factory JCW vin numbers.

I'll be getting a badge for the front , I was told they were sometimes relocated and sometimes not installed when the brake ducts were fitted.

I subscribe to Motoring File Daily and this interesting and timely article was in my inbox this morning:

http://www.motoringfile.com/2011/11/...buy-a-r56-jcw/

Seems it isn't so easy to spot those R56 JCWs.

Enjoy your new one, JPMM!

When I first saw you were selling ol' blue I thought for sure we were going to have our first coupé in the group. But, a "stupid" red JCW?
Nice looking replacement, can't wait to see it. Great color!

I just went through the dealer pictures. WOW, that is a heckuva MINI you're coming home with.

weird stuff compared to the R53,,the nav thing is gonna take some time to figure out ,,runs great, like yours,,, I think the handling is not quite as sharp as ole blue(R53), but the ride is better. The brakes are great. Had a hard time finding comfort with the drivers seat at 10hrs plus( but did'nt have the problem with ole blue)

What is to the left of the tach in the picture above?

Glad you had a good trip home. Maybe as the seats get broken in more they will be more comfortable for you because I love mine! As for the handling, nothing that coilovers and wheel spacers cant fix plus it will give it that mean stance!

It's a mount for a cell phone, GPS, whatever. I think..at least I'd looked at something like that at one point.

probably remove it and get a set of Mini gauges.

If this was my 09, JCW...

yes, it is indeed a true 09 JCW, factory ordered from MINI of Nashville. When it left my garage, it had the JCW emblem on the front. Also, the item next to the tach is a factory mount for a Garmin gps. I had a Garin Nuvi 1390 along with an echoRoute HD that displayed engine info, gauge style.

https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=38354

Let me know if you have any questions.

Harold

PS: I still have the original factory R112 JCW wheels in the garage.
