Ok....
Mods galore today....

Started bright and early this morning....

1. 9:45am - Started installing Way Motor Works 15% Pulley. While we were in there, we installed the Detroit Tuned Tensioner Stop. With help, it took about 1.5 hours. Done around 11:30.
2. SeaFoam through the PCV valve. Let it sit for 10 minutes and revved car to clean out carbon deposits. Let car cool.
3. Started installing lower fog lights. Time for lunch.
4. Came back out, installed new NGK BKR7EIX spark plugs.
5. Kept working on the fog lights. After running the wires, reinstalling the bumper cover and installing a new toggle switch, we were done for the day.

Stopped at about 5:00pm. Whew....What a day.

But, holy smokes.....This car is QUICK! My brother drove it and couldn't believe it was so fast.

I'm so glad my Wife was keeping a good eye on the 2 boys. It would have been so much tougher to do everything if she wasn't there. And she got to help a fair amount. That is always a great thing!

When we pulled the original plugs, they weren't even hand tight. I couldn't believe it.

I torqued them to 21.5 ft/lbs. Let's hope that works better than the way they came out. I will definitely check them every oil change, if not sooner.

I'm guessing that it is the 15% pulley, rather than the SeaFoam. I'm sure that helped, along with the new spark plugs.

It was fast before, but now it is much quicker.

oh 15% and cooler weather
Yea Moss but I think they have brighter rings now. The bulbs are modified to fit blue coated Siverstars, that are amber when blinking. I think thats what makes the look.

I've kind of got 2 things on order for my MINI, one is a new coolant bottle (not really a MOD, just something that needs to be done), and the second is a drop-in panel foam air filter from alta. I know it isn't that big of a mod, nor as much as say a CAI, but it will do for now.

UH? Should I be checking these even though I have never changed mine? Or is this something to do only after they are changed from the original stock sparkplugs?

I would check them at every oil change,
I had to have a coil put in or a new head at $2300, I thought when it happened that I blew up the motor as the plug jumped out of the head and hit the hood with a great thud.

Thanks! I ordered the extra long spark plug socket from minimania.com. Never really looked at my spark plugs yet but since I needed an extender thingy (technical term) for most every thing else and they sell it, I must need it

Also am sick of complaining about the wipers on my car and bit the bullet and got all three of the MINI wiper blades. Don't care what they cost, when its raining there is nothing worse than crappy blades! I used Bosch blades before and they are pretty good but this last time I just put on ANCO and they suck. Sounds like I may need those new blades this weekend Rain, rain, go away.

I too use rain-x (i use the liquid stuff plus the washer fluid that rain-x makes) and very seldom turn the front wipers on.

Rain-X is great until your windshield is pitted terribly, as MINIs are prone to become.

I just used Rain-X on ours 2 weeks ago and you can't even tell now. Blah...Come on, Birdie....I need a new windshield.

Ok...
So a few upgrades since our last meeting:

Upgraded to some new foglights. They are aftermarket, but work great and look factory. For about 1/20th the price...

We added stripes like Gary's. Wifey fell in love with them and we got them the day after the Swamp Fox Festival.
Right after they were installed, I taped off the chrome and PlastiDipped it.

After that, we decided to have them make us some more vinyl for the dashboard. It was a bit of a pain and would have put a strain on a typical couple's marriage, but we've remodeled a house and bar together and work very well under pressure.

and the doors...

Everything turned out great. We took everything apart and painted the silver on the dash, downtubes and the door surround and door pull with Rust-Oleum Aluminum Metallic. We had lots of problems with fish eyes (from Armor All, I'm sure), but they turned out great. Threw everything back together and Amber's happier than ever with it. Next mod.....Winter tires and possibly rims....

Mica, you've been a busy bee lately...

Love all the new mods, especially the side stripes (of course). Just curious -- did SportsWorld still have the template I had them develop, or did they need to start from scratch?

Thanks for posting all of the nice pics!
