Have you tried the Heimlich maneuver?

Backup Camera Installed

Backing out of our garage is a gamble. The driveway slopes pretty fast downhill; line of sight = distant trees. With new sidewalks in place, and lots of kids on trikes, Molly insisted on a backup camera, so I put one on her butt today. Pix and captions here:

Fred, that's a nifty install. The wireless video feed looks really convenient; much better than having to run a cable up front. I'm deducing that you are powering the camera off the reverse indicator light, so the camera is only operating while you have the shifter in R?

Anxious to see this up close and personal.

Very nice Fred. I noticed you mounted the screen to keep the power plug on the left-hand side but the picture is still correct (i.e., up is up). Was that programmable?

I'll bet there are some little black luggage straps, or something analogous, that you'll run across as a replacement for your rubber bands someday.

If I may ask, where did you pick up the camera kit?

Oh, and good idea hosting your pics on G+ and linking to them here (now why didn't I think of that? )

Ooops -- yeah, I planned it that way.

The picture orientation is a happy accident. I put the camera on upside down, but noticed my mistake only after I had it fastened in place

I ordered the kit from Amazon. It was $115.50, with shipping.

Had the feeling from Ol' Blue that you'd still be a viper stripes guy.

Very nice; looks superb with the blackout job.

Not a huge mod, but a mod nonetheless...

I ordered a set of chrome duct caps from ECS Tuning -- snap off, snap on: very easy mod.

Okay, but how the heck do you get that kind of gloss on Mr. R? Incredible Molly is now whining, "Why don't you treat me like that, Fred?" (I didn't even know she had a NAM account, the little brat....)

I went here to find the part numbers:

http://realoem.com/bmw/select.do?kin...0110300&arch=0

and entered my MINI's configuration, which took me here:

http://realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.do?mo...3&mospid=52563

Then I selected "Vehicle Trim" and "Bumper Front" which got me here:

http://realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.do?mo...63&hg=51&fg=15

I clicked on "MOUNTING PARTS, BUMPER FRONT" and got here:

http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...62&hg=51&fg=15

Item 8 on the diagram is the chrome frame left and chrome frame right.
Left is Part Number 51117255119
Right is Part Number 51117255120

I went to:
http://www.ecstuning.com/
and entered one of the part numbers.....
etc.

You will have to enter your car's data on the "oem" site, to see if the parts are available for your build.
