My back-ordered Angel Eyes finally came from Moss today, so tonight was the install party (of one).

I thought I might be able to just undo the top of the bumper cover and bend it back a bit to install the light assemblies so I wouldn't have to remove my light bar. As it turns out, the bottom screw is almost impossible to feed from the top. After I dropped the third screw down on to the unreachable depths of the base of the Aero bumper cover, I threw my screwdriver across the garage, cried "Uncle," jacked up the front end, and proceeded to remove both the bar and the bumper cover completely. The install was a piece of cake with it off -- should have done it in the first place.

Here's the finished product, both "off" and "on" configuration:

My sincerest thanks to bsteig for the inspiration.

Are you sure you only cried "uncle"?

They look really great! Can't wait to see them.

Very nice! That is a mean machine for certain.

I imagine all the mothers in Long Grove seeing this MINI heading down their street at them and quickly hustling their children and dogs indoors for protection.

I added chrome lug bolts. Not a big mod but they make me and Gozer happy.

New Tires On Order For My MINI!! placed the order like 2 min ago. decided to go with the goodyear eagle f1 a/s. Couldn't really beat the price for a uhp a/s. will report back after i get them on and do some miles... gotta be better than some shot efori@s, and some mediocre falkens.

Do you get any sort of employee discount...or are you getting them through another provider?

They seem to be very highly rated by several vendors. I'm guessing you're going to like them. But for winter, better order some snows while you're at it.

discount tire. employee discount still couldn't match their price... the reason
i got them was for their winter traction, wish i could do a dedicated summer/winter set... remember, i work for GM

Here's something you can pick up to go with the shoes!

How cute is that! I would love to have a pink car. It would be fun to beat people out at a stop light with it. I am pretty sure the pink boot would look as cute as the purple boot people see now when I leave them sitting at the light.

I think it would be cheaper for me to find shoes to match Gozer rather than a car to match the shoes.

Umm..I have a confession. When I was in town Wednesday I bought a pair of sandals just like a pair I already own but the new ones are purple. I know, I have a serious problem! I will show them off on the East meets West trip. I guess that means I can't buy the pink car.

Ok car update
MINI Cooper S Sport suspension installed
IE Fixed Camber plates
New Brake fluid
The new handling is amazing. I used to take a 270 degree onramp on dry days at about 50 - 55 before understeer started now on a rainy day I took the same corner at 65 and could have pushed a bit more I think.
Not a mod to the car but so much fun
GoPro Hero Camera with several mounts for car

Brian, who did your suspension and camber plate install?

Looking forward to checking out your mods on Saturday.

Thought I'd take the liberty of posting in the mods thread this pic of Gary and Linda's spanking new R53 Aero Kit, which made its debut at today's Meet-n-Eat. So nice.

I must admit, when I stepped back and looked at wiring I had to do to hook up my new Marshall stepper gauges, I started second-guessing myself that I had hooked it all up correctly...

...but when I turned the key -- success!

I posted a little video clip over in the Marshall gauges thread. Here's a link:

I am a happy camper tonight!
