Plug wires

Time to change the wires (54k miles, should be about time).
Nology is out of the running (price, rice factor), so what would be the best OEM replacement?
Will be running 15% reduction, Alta CAI, one-ball, MSD coil. Nothing fancy. Would any of the 8mm/ 8.5mm AM sets work? I'm not looking for bling, just something that works well and doesn't break the budget for important stuff.

Kingsborne plug wires are highly recommended by many. And they can be had for less than about $40 if you look real hard.

I was going to get these: http://outmotoring.com/kingsborne_8_mm_plug_wires.html , but a set of Nology wires turned up for about the same price. These and the Magnecore's are $70 and I've seen the Nology's for $105 new.

I just put the Jackson racing ones on my car.. They seem to work good. I think they are only $35.00 retail from MOSS MOTORS, but they threw them in free when I bought a sway bar. They are having a "free stuff sale" right now.

Stock Wires work just fine regardless of modifications. but if you need to change them. The Kingsborne wires look really nice.

Right.
I just recently went back to the stock wires. The resistance I measured was very consistent for each length.

Ordered my red Kingsborne's from www.customminishop.com . Brad was very helpful (so much so that I ended up ordering a M7 pulley and thermostat, too!). Oh, and you can't beat their price; check it out!

Good choice, the red ones are worth an extra 2hp!

I put a set of Kingsborne on at approx 50K noticed an overall smoothness increase through the idle and rev range, would new stock wires do the same?...... probably, but I got my Kingsbornes for $25 with only 5,000 miles on them!

They're only $20.23 brand new so long as you don't mind them not having bling braid covering or some tuner's name silkscreened on it. Only one part number is listed for MINI.

NAPA/Beldon.

I just tried NAPA/Belden plug wires. Nice idle,
Pulls strong to 6,000+ for $40. No problems.
