Dinan Boost Upgrade System vs. ?

I was noticing that Dinan recommends upgrading the fuel pressure regulator when they use a "15 PSI" pulley:

Unfortunately, extensive testing revealed that the stock fuel delivery system simply can’t keep up as boost and rpm increase. In order to address the lean condition at higher rpm, Dinan has developed fuel pressure regulators designed to ensure that adequate fuel is available in order to take full advantage of the additional boost pressure for maximum power output and reliability.
Has anyone experienced a lean condition running about 15 PSI? I thought it wasn't until 18 or more that a lean condition persisted with the stock fuel delivery system...

Here is a link to the Dinan page:

Also, does anyone know what 15 PSI equates to in % (with no other mods)? Would it be a 15% pulley?

I would like to know this too! Dinan stuff, although they can be pricey, are generally high quality mods! So, you would think there is a good reason to get the fuel pressure regulators, etc.? Although I would love to only spend $115 for a pulley and it work great with no lean issues, than the HIGH price of the Dinan pulley with the extra's. So can anyone comment on this please?

Same here. This the only part of the package that I don't have. As much as I want it, the dealer wants $750 to install it, which is crazy.

I hope they mean "injectors", because the rest of the fuel system is rock solid beyond 250cHP...and I know Dinan isn't approaching those power levels, no offense to them, lol.

So Ryan....you don't think this fuel regulator, etc. is necessary? A pulley, ECU, catback, and intake will do a great job alone? Thanks man!

Hi guys.....

I can not imagine anyone ( I could be wrong) recomend a new fuel regulator
for the MINI. Our bigger 400cc injectors has proven to be more then capable of more then 250hp. So all I can say is...........don't fall for it.

Can uping the fuel pressure via the fuel pressure regulator be an alternative to larger fuel injectors?

Why would you want to go that route? Never hear of many people EVER doing that on our cars.

Just trying to figure out why Dinan did what they did. They are pretty thorough with all of their kits so there must be a good reason.

Maybe they do just do a injector upgrade and they just have a diffrent name for it? Never heard this discussed prior.

Naw, they don't touch the injectors. The reason I'm so interested in this is because I have this fuel pressure regulator (as installed in the Dinan Stage 5 kit by the previous owner) and I'm trying to figure out if this will suffice instead of injectors for an RMW tune...

Might want to call RMW, having bigger injectors will make it easier to add fuel maybe. So you have factory 340's? What else comes with the stg 5? And do you ever throw codes?

Yes, right now bigger injectors sounds like the way to go but if I'm able to utilize what I already have then that'd be even better . They call it the S2 package but it's a pulley, belt, intake, software, throttle body, exhaust, and the fuel pressure regulator. Right now the only thing I have from the kit is the fuel pressure regulator and pulley since I've swapped out everything else for other mods.
I used to get a CEL every once and awhile but it was traced back to a bad sensor by the cat

i'm having a fuelling related issue at the moment - and am debating what exactly to do as well - bigger injectors/fuel pressure regulator or both - i've got a 19% pulley with 20psi peak boost, am running 380cc injectors and am running lean over 5000 revs, i never thought there would be fuelling issues at 15psi though.
