Got my ECU back from Lucky Dog Garage today!

well today i got my ECU back from lucky dog garage.
first impressions are good! torque is shifted much lower down the power band and the car accelerates off the line with much more ooomph. i had some lean issues that i had hoped this would cure and it has helped greatly. i'm amazed at how well this went with just a bench reflash. i think i will need to do some tweeking in the upper rpm range with the safc but things are much better now with the AFR's. the car is smoother too. it was 95^f here today in tucson and the car spun secound gear. so that's a good indication i'm getting more torque from this tune. it only used to do that when it was cold out. so i'm happy so far. i'll have to do some more driving to get a better idea of how differen't the tune is.
thanks, john!

Hey John,
Long time no talk, your car is looking good. I'm still a couple weeks from picking up my Mini. I think in two weeks it will add up to 3 months gone from my hands. Hope all is well, are you still going to TURBO?
Mario

Thanks, keep us posted as you learn more...

How long did it take between fedexing the ecu to LDG and receiving it back?

I shipped the ecu to LDG overnight and john was busy and couldn't get to it the day he recieved it but it went out the next day overnight. he was on the dyno so he couldn't get to it but normally it goes out the same day.

That would be cool, but when I go to AZ I really just go to Scottsdale. I'm not sure how far that is from you?
Keep up the good work.

o.k. today i got some more seat time in the mini with the new tune. i cruised around for 58 miles. first off in closed loop the car feels vastly improved. part throttle accl. feels great it feels like i have more torque much much lower in the rpm range and with much less gas pedal! no more sluggishness off the line anymore. i'm very happy!! and now that i installed the scan gaugeII i am looking at IAT more and see i either need water injection and or a much better intercooler than the water to air i'm currently running on the car. i will proably go with the alta set up very soon. before summer arrives. it's already in the high eighties here!! crap!!

Yeah the weather is starting to suck for our FI cars. I noticed it really bad the last couple of days.

Sorry I missed your call today BTW. I will try giving you a buzz sometime tomorrow so we can meet up. You busy Tuesday night? A bunch of us tucson VW/MINI folks get together at Sonic down by the Univ. on Tuesday. Should be a few MINIs and a bunch of dubs.

I believe it is near $800 for the tune and dyno tuned. Not 100% sure of the price though. www.luckydoggarage.com

Actually there name has changed to BEHE Performance. They are the same people, just a different name.

Was this just a flash? If so, wouldn't seem to be the $800..
