To be safe, we sell the 59mm M7 TB for the 05-06 MCS and the 60mm for the 02-04 MCS. These sizes normally don't cause any problems. Given the variation between MINIs I've seen, I'm sure you can vary from these sizes in some cases with no problems.

Only makes sense. The TB is the least of the restrictionns in the line of prgression for the charge. Head way before one of these "vaporware" items. IMHO of course..

so far I have been told that on my 02 MCS the items that are not quiet mods that get gain for the money are DT BPV, big throttle body and 380c injectors.

I think I will have to spend my money wisely and get the best bang for the buck.

I tested a few on a close to stock car...

and didn't find any difference in power. I talked to Steve Dinan about it, and he maintains that you do get benefit when the car is modded a bit (intake, pulley exhaust....)

The larger I went, the more I had some issues with a flat spot. But as my car got more and more modified, even the stock TB has it a bit.....

Sometime I may retest the two I have (stock and 60 mm) to see if there's a difference in power now that the car is a bit more wild.....

But there are a lot that had issues with the 63 mm TB, and there are also a lot who ran it with no problem. The issues seemed to get worst with later year builds. But mine is an 02. I guess I was just lucky there!

As far as the code, what are you getting? That may give you something to go on. Idle speed is set in the ECU, and is controlled by TB position for slow variations, and I think timing changes for very fast control.

I believe my 59mm from M7 has aded some, though I have no imperical proof of such.
Unless you want to believe my highly sensitive butt dyno.

Hey Sharo, if you get DT BPV it is worth the money a very good upgrade and cheap. I wanted to call you but I couldn't find your number.
