Alta V2 Intercooler Installed as well as a few other goodies.

Last weekend I took it upon myself to adorn the underside of my bonnet with a few new parts. In all the Alta V2 IC, LOTF engine damper, HKS SSQ BOV, and the new Alta 3" exhaust were installed.

Here are a couple pics of the new engine compartment:

Here is a crappy picture of the exhaust:

The alta IC seals very tight against the hood and instructions are well written.

The new 3" Alta exhaust as big as it is fit with no problems.

The engine damper certainly has made a noticable difference in the way the car reacts to the right foot. More things seem to be rattling now but the tradeoff is worth it.

Just thought I'd share...

Is there something tack welded to the top that holds the seal?

I wouldnt call it a tack weld but there is a small bracket that runs the length of the IC for the attachment of the seal.

Can you access the spark plugs with the V.2 installed? Was it simply a bolt-on, or was there any trimming involved? Very nice set up, BTW.

Thanks,

Plugs are easily accessable now. There is some trimming neccessary to receive full benefit of the IC but the entire install should'nt take more than 2 hours.

Ok what I want to know is why you didn't snap a pic of your damper! Heh heh.

Looks nice man...that damper looks like it was a tight install though. How is the fit of the Alta exhaust? Any rattles or anything?

The damper is definately a tight fit but there is no rubbing or problems thus far. The alta exhaust was tapping on part of the heat sheild at first, but a simple push here and there and no more rattles.

Thanks,
-Cliff

A bit deeper than the previous Borla race. It is reasonably quiet until you really get on it. I will post a video sometime soon and that will give a better representation.

It is recommended to trim the lower portion of the hood scoop for optimum air flow.

Cliff are there any fittings on the intercooler for temp gauges as in the M7 unit. Very nice looking job. Any performance difference in the exhaust.
Thanks

haha, it sounds like a snake hissing combined with the noise an airhose makes when you disconnect from the compressor. Thats the best way I can describe it.

Thanks,

No fittings as it is but looks to be fairly easy to add if needed. The casting on the endtanks is very thick and solid and would be an easy location to tap. The car is much faster now and the power is instantaneous. I added many things at the same time but I'm sure alot of the change has to do with the larger flow of the 3" exhaust.

Cliff, looking pretty BOSS. I like it!
Any chance you could post a pic of the core? Is it a extrusion fin design?
