Also, why would existing MINI tuners abandon their current bread and butter market, thereby alienating their existing customers (and possible future R56 owners)?

With all the existing 1st Gen new MINI's running around (and going out of warranty) there's going to be plenty of development for a long time to come.

We are on the same page

Just a quick note.

I have returned phone calls religiously for the last few months, and emails are returned ASAP. We have had issues, but continue to work them out. Email me and see! I prefer Email, because when I am flying a trip, I can respond with the phone quickly.

As for design, bomboasy did show me his intake back in Houston in '03 I think it was. We have emailed back and forth a few times last week. This was a design I had not even recalled during our development process on the RAF, and the two designs could not look more different. I have done my own testing, development, CAD drawing, etc. on this unit.

As a tuner that traveled the country, I saw just about everyone's ideas, which I always thought was cool, but I certainly don't remember them all. As for the SportBox RAF - it was an evolution of our design ideas which you can see in other designs. With the RAF, I can say that our item makes much better power than any other intake on the market.

I am working very hard to return everyone's communications - the best way is email, but I return calls too (don't expect me to pick up though - I am the only one at the shop and I fly 737s on the side ). I also check the forum at my site just about daily, so feel free to post questions there as well.

I try to stay out of the stuff here on NAM, so it isn't always the best place to get input from Webb Motorsports.

Hope that helps!
Randy

Quick question... I have ordered the ddm intake and wanted to insulate the box from the rest of the engine compartment when I install it

Can anyone recommend a good heat barrier for this type of application? a link for where to buy would be nice as well

Thanks

Drew

If you can afford it use ceramic. I've found Heat Shield Products has a nice selection.

If your wanting an intake before Christmas, don't go with Webb. But if you want the best, you know who to call.

As an update to the SportBox, we will have these by Christmas - I have the AutoCad drawings completed in final form, they are at the water jet, the prototype has been cut, and the bender has nothing scheduled between now and Christmas. We already have all the hardware ready to go as well as the filters.

WMS are the best too !

Is a tube in the works or should we not be holding out for it?
