If you're in the market for a new intake, check out this one. It's sweet.

Peter mentioned it to me when I talked with him about a week ago and it seems things are still kind of hush-hush still.

I have the Alta CAI with lid but from what he said this will be very nice.

I trust Peter.

Not new. This was the WMS HDI box before the manufacturer decided to sell it for another vendor. Still a good product, but there are improvments to be made.

EDIT

thanks guys. Peter has actually sent me some information already. 1 thing I am kind of wondering on is, how this will compare to the intake that webb is coming out with. I saw it from the link camelpilot put up.

I think the Alta, DDM, Webb, whatever will be pretty much the same HP wise. It's just which one you like better or looks better or you can get cheaper. Just my 2¢.

I'm not sure you can compare the two. The Webb intake isn't on the market yet, so no one really knows how it is (fitment, performance, etc). I've heard nothing but good things about the M7/DDM intake.
It might be a while before you get any feedback on the Webb intake.

One HUGE plus for M7/ddm is that you can actually get in thought with them and they have fantastic customer service. From my experince I can't say the same for Webb

I have a little problem with this "new" Webb air intake. Please consider the entire idea of using the air from the "unused" area in the stock IC cover. How that air is been used for an CAI system in the "new" Webb air intake. Then take a look at this link below and tell me if you recognize it. The link is only from 2004! Then, let consider that Randy got to see it in person even months before I posted the link below, at a pulley party. Better yet, I asked him, shortly after that, if he wanted to develop it with me and he said no. Now he has copyrighted and I found out about it today, in this link. sly:

I tried to edit my post above, but had trouble doing it, so new post.

Before anyone things that this is an attack on Randy, it is not. Please look at my signature. Randy was the first person who worked on my car. I have great respect for his work ethic, products, and workmanship. He is a great guy. The more reason to be sad about what just happened. I hope he and I will work this out quickly.

Sorry for changing the subject of the thread, please lets take it back to the original subject.

They will be close... the DDM is made beautifully, I like the way it looks and performs..... Peter's customer service is as good as the best in any industry/products that I have been around and I have represented manufacturers (200+) for 25 years.....

Well let me throw in a personal "Ooooohh puhlease!!"

Mugami and I were talking about removing the plastic wall behind the intake and tapping into the cowl area months before the "groundbreaking" Alta intake hit the market.

We didn't patent it, build it or sell it. Snooze ya lose.

TonyB has been running a straight back exhaust for years. The '07 MINI now runs one. Should he sue them??

You might as well be busting DrPhilG as well.

I don't mean this to be harsh so please don't take it that way. You had a nice idea and shared it. I remember the thread well. You never even implied you were going commercial with it. And honestly you weren't the first to mention this concept.

what obehave said.

First of all, i'm sure there were quite a few people out there who had the concept in mind.

Randy was just the first one to take it that extra step and design it, protoype it, test it, develop it, test it some more, and hopefully soon, sell it.

Thats a crap load more than what anyone has ever done, including you. And to be frank with you, if Randy's final version looked anything like yours, he'll be lucky to sell more than 1.

(no offense intended.... just truth)
