There is another group buy being organized, and even though it kills me margin wise, I wanted the folks on MCO to know about it too.

Feel free to contact me to get on the list.

It will be $650 for a total of ten orders.

Randy - I know this is the lightest - and it seems one of the cleaner designs. I have heard it rated as second loudest behind the magnflow. Less power. How is the torque? I would think 4500 rpm torque more important than 7000rpm HP. Also is it possible to quite any of these sytems up a bit more by having a resonator added just after the cat without lossing much power?
Thanks
Wes

I'd like a QS if the current model will be able to be retrofitted with the dual tipped version they are advertising as coming soon. Anyone know how this will work?

From the talks I've had with MINI-Madness, the tip will be retro fitable to the current tip. I really like the current tip a lot better in person though (I just did a pulley install with one of the customer cars that has the QS and got a chance to see it again).

As far as the weight - it is roughly 23 lbs, and makes similar curves on the dyno when compared to the Magnaflow, only lower on the Y axis. The sound is much more quiet than the Magnaflow, so I would recommend trying it out as is before adding anything to it (and robbing a little bit of power).

Hope that helps!

Randy

Judging from the video that is going around with all 4 (counting stock) exhaust the QS sounts very metalic or scratchy. Does this video really give a true indication of how it sounds or is it misleading.

I'm getting a listen on the Magnaflow this Saturday at a meet and will make my decision either way by Monday.

Cheers,

Paul

"Bluesmaster", a local Columbus Motorer has this on his decked out Bk/B MCS and it sounds great. It is very refined, yet has a tone of very serious "get the ??*^ out of my way" kinda growl to it. From the inside it is very quiet. To me it sounds like the perfect combination of performance, design, and volume. The Quicksilver replaced the Magnaflow on this particular car after a few short weeks with the VERY loud and "drone-tone" Maggy.

BTW, that group price is amazing, take it and run. Randy is barely making ANY money on this setup at that price, trust me, I sell them and know what wholesale is on it.

Randy - What king of power increase would you expect with the QS, pulley, drop in filter, and air box mod. What becomes the limiting point here - Air box? I am at least as interested in torque imporvments around 4k as peak HP. Also - your thoughts on software 33.1 - (I think that what it's being called). I have a distinct single stumble in first gear only, and only from a complete stop. Must be software related. Not talking about hard acceleration here - no wheelspin - DSC has no affect, hot or cold, 400 miles. No mods yet. Stumble happens around 2500rmp ussualy. Happens to my wife also. Hard or soft start. March 5 03 build date.
Thanks
Wes

Randy,

How many orders do you have so far? I would like to get the Quicksilver (especially at this price) so count me in if you get 9 more. If the order goes through, leave me a message here and I will call you with my info or maybe I can pick it up from you in June or JULY at the SoCal pulley install.

I still like the Magnaflow the best, and a lot of the drone has to do with the mounting of the unit - plus it sounds quite a bit more mellow after 1000 miles or so.

That said, the Quicksilver is a very nice unit also - it is slightly down on power, and isn't quite as throaty, but that is totally subjective. I don't find the QS scratchy at all. The tip is very well done, and is probably the best finished tip of any of the exhausts out there right now.

Wes,

You can expect around 173 or so at the wheels with that set-up. You can't do the airbox mod wiht the stock box though - it has to be with the Rogue or BMP, or one of the units that replaces the stock airbox top. As far as the stumble, have you driven other Ss? Do you have the S-Lites with runflats? It may be the typical off the line bog usually associated with the heavy wheel/tire combo. Wiht that build date, you should already have 3.3 installed, so I don't think that's the problem. You can always have them reflash your unit with that software, but it probably won't do anything. The puley alone will fix that problem!

I currently have 4 including you - so I need 6 more. I'd like to have this wrapped up by the end of the week, so if you're interested, let me know ASAP.

Thanks!

Randy

Count me in at 650 - if you can get the others. I will do the pulley with you in Florida. I will wait a bit on the airbox until we see what Alta can do to improve there model. I am afraid I do have the heavy wheeel/tire package (should have done more homework). I do love the looks of the s-lites - oh well. But this is not that. This is an absolute off/on of the ignition or injection system. One very sharp, pronounced multi-cylinder miss, and only once per drive off. If I slow back down - still in first, and then accelerate again it won't happen. Only from a complete stop. Very weird, I will take it back to Global and see what they say.
Thanks again
Wes

Count me in at this price. I've been eyeing the QS exhaust since it came out, but the price kept me away. I can't pass it up with this type of discount.

Randy,

Who makes the Quicksilver exhaust and do they have a website to read more about the product. I hope that we are able to do the buy, it would go well with my new intake and pulley!

Randy, can you give me until Saturday afternoon? I'm getting a ride in a car with the Magnaflow and if I don't like it I'm going with the QS. Any problem with that?

Cheers,

Paul
