Drivetrain IC boot install help
IC boot install help
I have done ALL of the many mods to my car and others as well.
I really do feel capable and quite confident in the garage ...
HOW DO YOU GET THE ALTA BOOTS ON ???
I do have a large intercooler and got the Alta boots to help support it and ....yes I like RED.
I can't get those things on ...
Any tips ?

Brute force? With the clamps off, place the boot on the driver side first and slide IC all the way in until the two metal throats touch...lift up the IC slightly on the passenger side and insert the boot first onto the output end of the SC...then lower the IC slowly while lifting the boot opening and bring the two down like a draw bridge until the boot slips in...then slide the IC towards the passenger side until it's in the middle then apply clamps...

My condolances...it was hard enought to place the soft OEM boots on that let alone the rigid silicone version...
No they arn't hacked up because that is not how I work...
If it just isn't going to happen ... they are yours (I drink good beer)
Didn't see this mentioned but it helps a ton if you warm them up.
I use a heat gun but a microwave might work well too.
Get them about as hot as you can stand it to start and in a few minutes you'll be good and they're on.
I have the GTT units and they're very thick too. Warming them helps a ton.

its a combination of all of the above -
.
I found that two sets of hands facilitates the process.
one person pushes the IC in or on to the first horn all the way.
second person places 2nd boot onto the second horn.
As the first person lowers the IC unit into place, the second person works on getting the second boot onto the IC. I used two screw drivers w/ flat heads to help get the second boot over and on the IC. You have to be real careful not to damage the boot !
Pinched fingers - absolutely.

TBH I have no problems with my GTT boots. Warming just makes it easier.
Probably less than 5 minutes to get the boots on and IC in place. Installing the clamps takes a lot longer.

Thank you Larry.....
When we set out to make our IC boots, many of our customers told me that
if they where anything like.......(you insert the name) boots, I would get many angry calls from irrate customers...
So we sat down looked at the competitions boots, and found them stiff and unweildy, but with a different
durometer silicone and a better designed polyester webbing our new boots
are comparably supple, and very easy to install......
Only available in Glossy black for now, Red and Blue in January.
Price for a set: $29.99
