I was just wondering how the water pump in connected to the supercharger? I understand the crank pulley spinning the water faster but why with just having a smaller supercharger pulley?

The waterpump is actually attached to the other end of the supercharger on the MCS instead of being a seperate accessory like the alternator. Any speed change for the supercharger directly impacts the speed of the waterpump too.

This is also why running a 19% pulley near redline causes cavitation. The guys who upgrade to the M62 SC go with an electric water pump.

 

so let me get this straight...... the water pump is on the drivers side????? Ive been having this odd cracking/ticking sound under acceleration coming from the drivers side...... i wonder....................

 

Is there a way to slow down the water pump. Does any company make a larger water pump pulley?

 

To put it in simple terms the water pump is directly connected to the end of the super charger. There is not really a pulley involved. The faster the SC spins the faster the water pump is going to go as well. There is no simple way to seperate the two functions.

Regarding the waterpump location, it is on the driver's side of the engine bay, but still pretty close to the centerline of the car. Roughly underneath the exit from the intercooler.

with elettric water pump incraese more power... i read about 10 / 15 hp more is possible?

 

I was thinking about this last night, I wonder if having a electric h2o pump would give any hp, is so how much?
