DFIC and AGS Installed. Which one to do first?

Hello,

I was posting in another thread about some upgrades I planned on doing. So, I have figured out what I want to do, but need some more input specifically on the order.

For those of you who have both the DFIC and the AGS v3, which would you recommend going on first and why?

Oh, and thanks again to Peter from M7 for his input. I did not disregard it but just wanted others opininos as well.

Thank you,
JBravoMC

I was in the same position you were in for my 03 JCW. After lots of research I found that both products are excellent, so I ordered both they are arriving on Sunday I hope. If you can only get one of them, then... wow that's a tuff choice, really! I started with a list and ended up adding more to it... lots more. If I was in your shoes... hmmmm... I would probably go with the DFIC first (restore lost HP), then if possible the AGS, but that's just me and I'm sure other will disagree. Peter will give you good recommendations and he has lots of experience in this, so I suggest taking his words

By the way, did you hear the sound of an AGS equipped Mini

Good Luck

I am going to be ordering some suspension upgrades so I have room for the DFIC or the AGS left over. Eventually I will have both but right now it is one or the other.

And yes, I love the sound of the AGS. One of the reasons I am torn at the moment.

DFIC. It's a much easier install. IMHO better bang for the buck.

BravoMC, 2 already for the DFIC... I agree on the easy installation part. The AGS install is a little tricky and require some adjustments to the radiator tubes and wire harness.

JBravoMC,

As I said in your other thread, getting the AGS seems silly as you already have an intake. Yes, The AGS may be better than what you have, but I do not see the benifit of paying for the intake and install...the extra power/$ just isnt there.

As for the DIFC, that is a great idea. I wish I would have gotten that instead of the ram air scoop and Alta diverter. Not that there is anything wrong with my set up, I just like the look of the DIFC. That being said, I do not plan on changing it out, same thing, the benifit/$ just isnt there.

After you get the DIFC and your suspension goodies, save the money from not getting the AGS and get the injectors and software.

OK, 3 for the DFIC so far. I am placing my order today.

Also, it will save me some money to just keep the K&N Typhoon and tinker on it a bit to see what I can get out of it perfomance wise.

Thanks again for the input,
JBravoMC

installed

No other intake will give you the performance and sound like the AGSI missed that sound I would just do the installed all at the same time.

I agree with that, but if you already have an intake, I think its a waste for the couple extra hp that would be openned up for the money. ECU tune and injectors with be better, or maybe a head.

Well, I just placed my order for a DFIC. Thanks to Brad from Custom Mini and to Peter from M7 for the advice.

Now, it's waiting time for it to get here and spend more time looking into those suspension upgrades.

Thanks again everyone for the help,
JBravoMC

Ok, I received my DFIC (thanks agian Brad for the quick shipment) and opened the box. Out came the scoop but I was a bit concerned that there were some small dimples and places that appear to need to be touched (filled) prior to painting. Is this normal?

Thank you,
JBravoMC
