I just had a demo from my new friend whitney(who I met through this awesome forum) and it sounds incredibly bitchin'! It's not too loud guys! Maybe it's a climate thing but I think it positivly hums! Sign me up - unless Randy discovers something better in the next few days. Thanks again Scott!
Another Magnaflow fan.

Just thought I'd bring this back up to the top - I just saw it. I have to agree. You guys had me just about talked into thee fact that the Magnaflow is unbelievably loud! I thank DiD for bringing me back to my original subjective thought, that while it is louder than stock, in my opinion, it sounds nice.

It still isn't for everyone, and I am pretty good at seeing if it's right for you now that I've gauged a gazillion people.

Randy

I have the Magnaflow and I have to say that I love the sound more and more each time I turn the key. I have never had the drone issue that has been posted numerous times. The individual pipes were welded together, no clamps, and the bugle tips are nearly flush with the rear skirt ~ extending nearly 1/2 inch (no melting issues either).

When I hear my wife's S with the stock exhaust and that "tiney note" I'm so pleased with my decision. The sound of her vehicle is appropriate, more feminine.

I have had my Magnaflow installed for less than a week and I am still getting used to it. The sound is definately louder than stock but it adds oodles of character to a car that already stands out. I am sure that I will laugh a little the first time that a valet pulls the mini up after a nice dinner while on a blind date. I can anticipate her eyes slightly rolling as she quietly says, "couldn't you have brought the grown-up car?" lol

My wife picks up our kids from school in the Mini with the Magnaflow sometimes.

When I asked her if the noise makes a big scene at the school she says to me: "what noise?"

Can't get better than that!

If you guys love the sound and feel of the Magnaflow then you're going to pee on your shoes if you get the pulley...

-Jim

P.S. Once again, even though I sold *MY* Magnaflow I still think it's a great product. Just not right for me with a 3 year old child that rides with me regularly.

On an equally subjective scale, I rated the Magnaflow volume at 300% of stock and the Borla at 150%. I'd also say the Magnaflow is infinitely more than stock at 70mph on the highway as you are totally unaware of the stock exhaust note but very aware of the Magnaflow. I guess simple scales just don't do a good job of summing up everything involved.

The decision can be based on this......
If you would like to go see Peter, Paul and Mary.....
don't get the Magnaflow.

Speaking of the volume, I got a ticket last night from a NJ State Trooper for a LOUD exhaust. For those of you that don't know, I've got and LOVE the MagnaFlow.
Anyhow, the trooper tagged me doing 84 in a 65. I explained that some a**hole in a beat up Maxima was tailgating me and I gunned it to try and get some distance from the guy. He apparently witnessed this and wrote me up for the exhaust instead of speeding.
He actually asked me to rev the engine after he pulled me over. I think he just wanted to get a better listen. He claimed he could hear me accelerating from a toll booth from 100' behind.
I've got to believe if it wasn't for the MagnaFlow, he would have written me up for a reduced speeding violation. The MagnaFlow probably saved me quite a bit of $$. $44 violation as opposed to a lot of $$ and points.

Does your car still rock?
For some reason, my car is not as loud as yours was with the 'flow.
By the way, I do not think that it is as fast as yours was either.
Heard you have a Helix appointment, right?
Heading down there Tuesday.
